Finished Bike →. December 6, 2013. It was the end of week 12 when I went into the lab to put the copper I was etching into the etching bath. I think that the etching turned out well other than the piece got a bit scratched in the time I was waiting to etch but other than that I’m happy enough with the outcome. This week I also pop riveted the plates and mud guards onto the bike. I wanted to wait until the bike was finished being painted to do this. The bike is nearly finished now! Finished Bike →.

I do thing the frame design gives the bike great structure and i do feel all round the bike is very strong. If i had my time back i would have kept the design. December 5, 2013. I manufactured the kickstand by forging a piece of 10mm round steel. I first heated the top of the bar again using the oxy acetylene burning torch and them beating the heated bar flat using the ball pein hammer against the anvil. After that I cut it to length and did the same on the other side. Then finally I drilled the hole and bend it to the correct angle. I them spayed the kick stand black and mounted it to the bike. Artificial Fuel Tank Realised. November 7, 2013. I began work on my fuel tank today. I was surprised by how quickly you can shape the tan cast along with the smooth finish. I will consider this in future projects. Staying with my agriculture theme I shaped the tank in the form of a seed.
