Everything from luxurious international hotels and private beachfront condos to local bed and breakfasts and beachfront camping. This area has something for everyone. Best of all it is just 45-60 minutes drive from the International airport outside of Liberia. Potrero is about 45-60 minutes from Costa Rica's newest international airport, the Daniel Oduber International Airport just outside Liberia. Up until 2004, international flights were largely via charter flights or via connecting flights through San Jose. The popularity of the area and the rapid development of hotels and resorts have resulted in the introduction of regularly scheduled flights from Miami, Houston, Dallas and Atlanta and now Toronto, Canada.

The map shows the main route to Playa Potrero from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia. This route is newly paved and takes around 60 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions. The route passes through: Comunidad, Filadelfia, Belin, Huacas, Brasilito, and into Potrero. There are times during heavy rains when the river should not be crossed. If it's your first visit take the longer route unless you have a driver that knows the way.
