Feb 22nd, 2012 at 6:57 PM. The lake was frozen, which was amazing because this has been one of the mildest winters on record in Central New York. But the frozen lake did not deter us from some excellent bird watching. We found a great spot and set the timer for some good bird watching. In fifteen minutes, this is what we saw:.
