Alexus McLeod's Comparative Philosophy Blog. Why Do Americans Find Daoism/Zhuangism So Compelling as a Way of Life (and Not Confucianism)? Why Be Concerned With Intellectual Diversity in Philosophy? An Alternative Reading of Copan Stela A, and Tianxia (天下). October 16, 2014. The translation here seems to me plausible. There are some very easy parts of this, including the emblem glyphs of first Copan itself, then Tikal, Calakmul, and Palenque ( kul xukpi ahau. Syllable at the top left corner, and I’...

Marko Polo: Boston
http://markopolo87.blogspot.com/2010/05/boston.html
Filling in the cracks. Friday, May 28, 2010. I'm in New Hampshire right now. My friends and I, you see, decided to trek up north to visit some friends we met through our study abroad experiences who go to UNH. They came and visited us in Springfield, so we thought we'd return the favor. Thus, on Monday we hopped in the car and schlepped 25 straight hours to spend a week in the great Northeast (particularly Boston and New Hampshire). I've got other issues I'd like to blog about soon as I've had some deep ...

Marko Polo: On Being Wild...
http://markopolo87.blogspot.com/2010/02/on-being-wild.html
Filling in the cracks. Tuesday, February 23, 2010. I used to be really passionate about so much in a childlike, simple kind of way. Every day was an adventure which I attacked with vim and vigor. Somehow though, for a myriad of reasons, my life became very calculated. I do most things now because I should do them, or because they're good for me, or because they're safer, but that passion and intensity have somewhat dissipated. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears! Hey Mark, hang in there buddy!

Filling in the cracks. Tuesday, March 9, 2010. My Forays into Feminism. The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal. March 9, 2010 at 11:52 AM. Critical theories like feminism consist of applied moralities of ressentiment. March 9, 2010 at 11:56 AM. March 9, 2010 at 1:18 PM. Im glad to see the version of this argument that is more finalized than what I glimpsed in Senior Sem. :P Many times I prefer writing about issues as opposed to talking about them, mainly because its so mu...

Marko Polo: Buddhism at Work...
http://markopolo87.blogspot.com/2010/02/buddhism-at-work.html
Filling in the cracks. Thursday, February 25, 2010. Now I don't consider myself a serious Buddhist anymore (don't worry, Walter family), but that doesn't mean that I can't learn a lot from the Buddha and the simple truths he outlines in the Noble Eightfold Path. Let me share with you a bit of my life. This is going to include me sharing some stuff about myself which my family doesn't know, so if you're one of my family members you can either:. Buddhist psychology. Plain and simple. Let me explain. Don't ...
