Raquo; About Us. We are a group of family history enthusiasts based near the Suffolk coast midway between Felixstowe and Lowestoft. From 2014 we meet at monthly intervals in Leiston with an outside speaker on matters of interest to family historians. We meet on the third Monday of each month (no meeting in August) in the Leiston Community Centre, King George's Avenue, Leiston, starting at 7:30 pm. The Community Centre is situated between the Crown Public House and the Fire Station.

Monday 19th September Penal Transportation. Talk by Pip Wright. Over a period of eighty years, over two thousand convicts were transported from Suffolk to Australia. Most never returned. This didn't only affect them, but also the families they left behind. Pip Wright's illustrated talk tells their stories and includes songs about transportation.
