Category Archives: Daiber Buttress. Castle Rock – Washington. May 1, 2012. This route is one of Washington’s classics that I keep coming back to! It’s a moderate climb with a ton of history (Fred Beckey first climbed this route in 1948). All though rated 5.6, the chimney pitch has always felt a bit harder for me. The upper pitches are just awesome cracks and corners all the way to the top! After having a mediocre climbing day at Peshastin Pinnacles yesterday we were excited to have dry weather today!

Peshastin Pinnacles – Washington. April 30, 2012. Spencer and I drove to Leavenworth hoping to get out of the rain. The rain ended up following us the whole way. So we continued to Peshastin Pinnacles which was dry for the moment! Lightning Crack – 5.8. The first pitch seemed hard to be but once you reach the corner it eases a bit. I started climbing the easy second pitch but by the time I made it to the cave I heard relentless buzzing. I looked up and saw the biggest wasp nest I have ever seen!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009. I was looking forward to a great couple of day's in the Boston Basin area! We had some ambitous plans of climbing multiple peaks during our short two day adventure. We slept in the back of Marks truck on Sunday night with a full parking lot at the Eldorado Trailhead with hopes of an early start. I figured it would be fairly quick to get into Boston Basin as I had done it in less than 3 hours before! Boy was I wrong! I was getting so frustrated! Mark hiking to the Quien Sabe Glacier.
