Sunday, June 29, 2014. 50% IS NOT ENOUGH. If you have read these blogs, you know that I have clinical depression and am taking medication to provide mental balance. By the way, I share my situation publicly, hoping that my story will provide hope for others. One third of the population will have depression at some time in their life.). I've been easily irritated. At the time I feel I'm justified - "If people wouldn't be so stupid and mean! So, I have. Saturday, June 28, 2014. AM I A WEINER? I am a bit su...

Tuesday, May 26, 2015. MORE STUFF I LIKE. MORE STUFF I LIKE. Things (still) go better with Coke! The very first 10 seconds on the bike! First bite of pizza. Favourite song on the radio. Wife saying "thank you for doing the dishes". People who say "I’m sorry". Nerds and salt and vinegar chips. When ticketmaster says "Scott, you’re going! When I come home and the grass is cut. When my magazine subscription comes in the mail. Making Travel Agendas for the band. Le Chateau and Zara. MORE STUFF I DON'T LIKE.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. THE MAGIC BEHIND THE MIC - #1 - "THE DJ AND THE MUSIC". Some people think that once you tour a radio station and see the guy behind the microphone, the magic of radio is lost. It’s like seeing the "man behind the curtain" in the Wizard of Oz. For me, exactly the opposite happened. Historic building, no longer there. The behind the scenes magic made listening to every radio station exciting because I had a glimpse of how it was coming together. I remember listening to CHUM and it ...

SJ: 2 AMAZING HOBBIES
http://christianflamethrower.blogspot.com/2015/04/2-amazing-hobbies.html
Sunday, April 5, 2015. Ok, ok, maybe they're not hobbies. The first one is my full-time job at LIFE 100.3. And it's a job I love. I work on LIFE at work, and at home, and in the car and sometimes on my bike. I guess I don't ever turn it off because, most of the time, it's not hard work. My other hobby, or job - or whatever it is - is being the band manager for Anthem For Today. While in my 20's, I managed three other bands, non-recording acts, operating at a local level, mostly playing in bars. My na...

Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Pip and me hanging out in Gastown. (overrated). The Covenant Awards are presented by Gospel Music Association of Canada, awarding the best. In Christian music. This year the ceremony was held in Langley, just outside of Vancouver. A little out of the way for most people in Christian music, but fun to get out of town and breathe in the Western air and check out the mountains that BCers are always bragging about. (They were looking majestic! Then came the fancy dinner - yum!

Wednesday, July 30, 2014. There is a song by Group 1 Crew that I really love - "He Said". I love the melody, the hook and how the words fit into the melody. To me, it's a great song. The song is written as if God is speaking to us, the listener. I like that. But lyrically, in my opinion, it's Biblically incorrect. Here's why. The words are -. I won't give you more, more than you can take And I might let you bend, but I won't let you break And No-o-o-o-o, I'll never ever let you go-o-o-o-o". Anniversary f...
