Leather is Better: June 2012
http://aosleather.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Though I've never stopped making belts, I did stop selling them in my online shops for awhile, except on special request. To be honest, this was a decision born of frustration with difficulty in sizing issues. Whatever the cause, the result was that nearly half of the belts sold online were coming back to me due to sizing errors. Of course, everyone was very nice about it, realizing that I can only send the size requested; I cannot magically determine if the info is correct.

Leather is Better: October 2014
http://aosleather.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 22, 2014. If you saw my last post, you know I've discontinued my Earth Medallions for the time being. Well, I can't just walk away from all these beautiful stones in my stash box, can I? So I've decided to incorporate them into bags - here are the first two examples of a tote bag that closes with a strap that's passed through a stone and leather loop. The oxblood bag is accented with a Wild Horse stone - a great compliment to the color! Posted by Art of Spirit LeatherWorks. Art Of Spir...

Leather is Better: August 2013

Sunday, August 18, 2013. Building a Tooled Belt Design. I thought it might be fun to show you, start to finish, how the design for this belt was built. It begins with the leather, of course. I use an exceptional grade of 8/9oz full-grain cowhide, cutting the straps by hand. I case. I started by scoring the outer edges to create a border, then marked the design "centers" with faint dots. The spacing on this design is 1.5". Then the next tool (v406) is added in the space between the sets of the first tool.

Leather is Better: Mehndi-Inspired "Henna Series" Cuffs
http://aosleather.blogspot.com/2014/09/mehndi-inspired-henna-series-cuffs.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Mehndi-Inspired "Henna Series" Cuffs. It's not uncommon for me to get so caught up in what needs to be done that I lose track of beloved pet projects. A couple of years ago, prompted by a request from a client who was looking for unique wrist-wear, I started what I lovingly called my Henna Series; leather wristbands inspired by mehndi, that glorious art of drawing on the body with henna-based dyes. The time has come again to renew the series. You can find them here.

Born to my youngest daughter and her gallant husband in early September, he's close to perfect as far as I can see ;-). Haha Yes, I am a bit of a proud grandma . Did I mention he's my first grandchild? Gotta love the lime-green outfit!
