About Ned

Born in Chicago in 1936, Ned grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. After his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force in Charleston, S.C., he entered the Ringling School of Art, Sarasota, Florida, in September 1959, where he majored in Commercial Art and minored in Fine Art. . His love of eagles and other fowl life inspires him to include them liberally in his landscapes. He particularly enjoys painting what he refers to as “fire trees” because of their hot colors.

A New Year, A New Beginning. SPOILER ALERT: Jump to the bottom of this post to find out what happened to our Mantus Anchor in 240 mph winds during Hurricane Irma! The anchor itself came in three pieces that got bolted together. The installation was a little messy with all the special bolt grease but it was fairly easy. Even though we werenâ t able to use our own anchor very much, Scott decided to put their 65lb Mantus onto their daysail catamaran, Aristocat, at the same time we began running that boat!
