Bamboo Heaven: March 2010
http://bambooheaven.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 7, 2010. Sweet Links to Share. This will be a random collection of links that are awesome. Please enjoy. When Kevin and I travel to Europe (after saving up some pennies), we will be touring with one of Rick Steves' pals because they'll provide one heckuva trip. Perhaps you'd also like to tour with them? I found this site. After seeing an awesome picture. Super interesting and extremely aesthetically pleasing. On a slightly different note: this site. I happened upon this site. I feel like th...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. We got in and checked with Green Tortoise. To see if they had any beds; they gave us a double bed for $60 in a dorm room. Open the door, 4 bunk beds, ours on the top. THE MOST COMFORTABLE queen-size mattress ever, and curtains for privacy, even! Each bed had four 3-prong outlets to charge up our goods, a fan, and a light. We could play foot shadows. 8221; (I still call it “foe,” since the other way sounds like you’re cutting off your cussword.). We went to this wine pla...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Looking at the map the night before, I had a little bit of an anxiety attack. The map of the park is on a huge scale, and driving from place to place is only a couple hours, but seeing yourself in tiny dots traversing across the entire state of Washington (we pretty much did! Lends to some panic. We stopped at Port Angeles, which was kind of like a mini-mini-Los-Angeles, for Mexican food at Sergio’s. Why are chips and salsa the cure for all things? Except a big belly?

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Newer posts →. Olympic National Park is kind of a letdown after a classy dame like Mt. Rainier. But like any good gentelman, I gave her a chance. Today was our first beach hike since the beginning of the trip…I bought a little pocket book that told us which beaches to go to in Olympic, and after we checked in to Mora Campgrounds, we drove 2 miles to Rialto Beach for a 4-mile hike down the beach and back. What did we eat that night? Cocoon in the seastack:. Camped at Hoh...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. 7/24–Columbia River Gorge. We left Seattle after a foccacia sandwich breakfast at Sisters. Their sign told a strange story:. That reminds me of this guy we saw on a bus toward St. John’s in Portland–he was taking swigs out of a Jack Daniels bottle, muttering to himself, and his backpack had a scraggly red ponytail piece shoved in the front pocket. I imagined him petting it, his little friend. The Cascade Locks grocery store featured some all-stars:. We even got a little...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. X made this monster last night. Before he made it I wasn’t hungry, but then when the turkey patty started sizzling in teriyaki sauce, and he brought it out paired with tomatoes, half-sour pickles, and slapped it between two slices of wheat bread, I had to go sit elsewhere because I started drooling. He gave me a bite, and it was delicious. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. 7/24–Columbia River Gorge. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Our last morning in Olympic National Park–we had some good breakfast and were on our way. We stopped in Port Townsend, WA, at a seaside diner which had pretty good clam chowder, and walked along the streets, looking in antique shops and bookstores. We stayed in Blaine, WA on the 22nd at Birch Bay Hostel. Which was an old radar station for the military with housing complexes. I think we were the only ones staying at this hostel!
