Juniper Peak: Where is everyone? Wagonwheel Lake and Copper Mountain. June 11, 2014. The “very steep” sign at the Wagonwheel Lake trailhead intrigued me last time I was at the Staircase ranger station in the Olympics. I heard the lake isn’t very impressive. I didn’t need to be impressed, but I did want to see some views of Sawtooth Ridge’s east side. Copper Mountain, beyond the lake and 1,300 feet higher, seemed like it would be a good vantage. I think it’s a toss up. Juniper Peak: Where is everyone?

Chicago Families Ride On. Sunday, April 13, 2014. Tief ( -Garagen) in Bayern. We visited in Holland, Germany, Italy and Switzerland this winter for the first time in eight very long years. We got to return to visit old friends. Babies born but never met are now in elementary school, new buildings everywhere. We took a pile of pictures we will be publishing in a short series this week. Thank you again to the beloved friends whose houses are in our pictures. Today it's all about the tief (deep) garage!

This may not be news, but at least on the weekends and holidays there is a $4 per person (3 years old ) water taxi that leaves from under the new Trump Tower (old Sun-Times building) downtown and goes to Chinatown every half hour.
