Barefoot in Jerusalem

Sunday, September 25, 2011. Not my own photo today, rather a photo from one of my missionary support congregations! I logged into facebook a couple of weeks ago because facebook had informed me I had been tagged in a new photo by a friend and colleague in Iowa and I was intrigued. What photo had he posted? And how did I warrant a tag? It was super fun to be greeted by this:. With the caption below the photo reading:. And a big thanks to all of my other supporting congregations! Barefoot in Jerusalem: shout-out to visual preacher

http://barefootinjerusalem.blogspot.com/2011/03/shout-out-to-visual-preacher.html

Friday, March 4, 2011. Shout-out to visual preacher. Today is a super fun shout-out to my new friend Amber (who, of course, being Lutheran, has old connections to me) for her books books books. That's right, before this project, they had no library in their school. But why am I telling you about this? It's all in Amber's blog! There's even a YouTube video. In less than one day at least 18 books have been donated! Thanks Kevin and Amber! Go to Amber's Blog. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Barefoot in Jerusalem: Endless Courses Under Jordanian Skies

http://barefootinjerusalem.blogspot.com/2011/09/endless-courses-under-jordanian-skies.html

Saturday, September 24, 2011. Endless Courses Under Jordanian Skies. Mmm I went to Jordan for work this week as we prepare to break ground on a Lutheran retreat center at the Baptismal Site at Bethany-beyond-the-Jordan (yup, that's a mouthful) and ended up being served a most amazing Lebanese meal at an open-air restaurant designed by our architect. After so much food, I don't think I really ate at all the next day, and likely wouldn't have needed to eat for a week. But it was oh-so-yummy. Endless Course...

Barefoot in Jerusalem: February 2011

http://barefootinjerusalem.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 18, 2011. Salaam and Peace be to you from Jerusalem! It has been a busy few weeks since I returned from my time in the States, and an exciting time for the ELCJHL Director of Education Office! Building Hope in Ramallah. First, on February 7th, in Ramallah, we all gathered to lay the cornerstone for a new building for the Evangelical Lutheran School of Hope. It was really fun to gather with both students and teachers at the new site and literally cement in the new cornerstone. But, the Ev...

Barefoot in Jerusalem: A Day in Jerusalem

http://barefootinjerusalem.blogspot.com/2011/03/day-in-jerusalem.html

Saturday, March 5, 2011. A Day in Jerusalem. Today was such a beautiful sunny day in Jerusalem that I decided to go out and play the tourist, complete with camera. I'm posting a few photos to my blog here, but if you want to see more photos from the day, click here. Or on any of the photos below. An ancient olive tree in the Garden of Gethsemane. A street in the Old City of Jerusalem. Spring blossoms outside of my apartment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe to ELCJHL News! A Day in Jerusalem.

February 3, 2015. God's Creation of Marriage. God will not protect you from anything that will make you more like Jesus. Elisabeth Elliot. Excerpted from Let Me Be a Woman, by Elisabeth Elliot:. One thing that makes a marriage work is the acceptance of a divine order. Either there is an order or there is not, and if there is one which is violated disorder is the result - disorder on the deepest level of the personality. Men and women are equal, we may say, in having been created by God. Both male and...

My year running (mostly) barefoot. March 25, 2011 by barefootinit. I’m headed to Michigan this weekend for a wedding and baby shower, and I’m supposed to run 11 miles tomorrow morning. Barefoot in la Cocina

Monday, March 16, 2015. Every winter it seems as though there is one week not like the other. We spend 99% of the winter months bouncing from temps in the teens to temps in the upper 70's and beyond. Two weeks ago, however, was the exception. It never fails that there is always one week not quite like the others. Playing Mario games, and cuddling. It has lovely! Something about snow is so magical - at least when you're not encrusted in a tomb of it for many months out of the year. ;). My gentleman is my ...
