ALBAA Member Tales: Short Stories. This section has been deidcated to ALBAA member's fishing tales. You guessed it, Peter Oberg's does it again and this time it's an ANSA NSW State Record - All Tackle Division. This fish was a female and Damo momentarily hooked up on what we think was the male. These bigger fish seem to hang around in pairs and it's not uncommon to have two hooked up at once, with the male being much bigger. I would have loved to have seen the partner of this fish. Caught on a Dakau 11’ ...

Shaking the Monkey Again - Australian Land Based Anglers Association
http://albaa.com.au/fishingarticle_lt.htm
SHAKING THE MONKEY AGAIN. The clock struck 3pm and I was officially unemployed for 9 days. That marked the start of an 8 day fishing trip down the NSW North Coast and back again and it only took me a matter of seconds to change out of the work gear into the fishing gear and hit the road. The mission: to finally land one of these elusive Longtail Tuna. After I asked some young fellas if they were going to take their empty beer bottles with them. I had heard there was a Tuna Guru in town and I was keen to ...

Stewardship - Australian Land Based Anglers Association

One day when i was new to this area, I had been catching dart from the beach and really wanted to try getting something different from the headland, I tried climbing round alone. Not knowing the way it got dodgy quickly and I turned back. I ran into an elderly bloke who asked if I'd gotten a result, I said I didnt know the way was just turning back. He hesitated, then peered up from his big straw hat. "follow me" he said in a gruff voice. We were completely and utterly alone,. I did my best to recall my ...

Two from two and a jew for you - Australian Land Based Anglers Association

TWO FROM TWO AND A JEW FOR YOU. Well its been on my mind all week within a world where I need 10 extra hours every day, and, after doing 18 hour days for the past three days Damo and I bit the jew bug and went for a bash. Today felt right, looked seemingly Ok, tides, moon and weather looked the goods. A brief coastal watch camera check even raised the hackles on my neck. A nice little sit back up with the gear had us calmly wiping sweat from our brows, and it was time for a quick beer. The first couple o...
