Saturday, 7 February 2015. This video shows the class in rehearsals after they had devised a new movement piece know as 'The hashtag dance'. The play looked at many different subject matters such as cyber bullying and finding love online. The group performed the piece in the studio theatre at Beacon on the 23rd and 24th of January alongside our 1st and 2nd year class who performed some devised scenes based on Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible' - both pieces were directed by Megan Yeomans and Michael Collins.

Monday, 1 July 2013. Summer School 2013 - Day One. Today was the first day of our Summer School. The idea is that we, the tutors, walk into the room with no ideas other than a few exercises. From these exercises we work with the young people to create a show that we will perform on the Friday. After this we then tried to turn our drawings into real 3D images using our bodies, this made for some really interesting shapes that we then moved and created some intricate dance sequences. Saturday, 3 March 2012. Last night saw the first ever public performance of our new play '100 Days', it went down really well with all the senior actors really putting their all in to the show. We had a really exciting day today with our final Trinity Guildhall Exams as GYT. Needless to say our students didn't let us down! We had fantastic results! P 1-2 all received a Gold Performers Award. P3-4 received a Distinction with 87%. P5-7 Charlie's Wind received a Distinction with 89%.

Every two years the BYT puts all our pupils through acting certificates with Trinity Guildhall London. These are exceptionally fun to do and, at the end, each participant receives a beautiful certificate from the college. The certificates allow young people to write and perform their own plays or for older ones to get stuck into something really challenging. For example last year we had groups performing scenes by Harold Pinter and Shakespeare as well as work they had devised themselves.
