A gran...

Uma viagem pela estrada Panamericana. De Trujillo a Ayacucho atravès da Cordillera Blanca (Peru). Jeff no parque nacional Huascaran.

Saturday, July 21, 2007. La Ruta Lenca and the attempted robbery (Honduras). But I was already in El Salvador for 9 days and although it seems little time, it was more then enough for that small and not so attractive country. With the first pedal strokes in Honduras, the country immediately looked different from Neighboring El Salvador. The houses were older and more simple but well kept, the road was in good conditions and without traffic, the valleys more open and the mountains higher. By the time we a...

Monday, June 30, 2008. El Alto, the new Bolivian metropolis (Bolivia). But before we adventure in these stages of adrenaline cycling we have to comply with customs formalities and find someone to stamp our passports. At the border of Janko Janko that we just crossed there was no soul in sight. We start our first cycling strokes in the country through a winding gravel road that resembled more an animal trail than a border road. We continued towards La Paz. We tried in vain to assert our presence among the...

Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Back on the Pan American (Guatemala and Mexico). The border crossing at Melcheor de Mencos, Guatemala, was fast and efficient. I stop my bike by the emigration building and push my passport through the aperture of the steel window. Seconds later a hand gave me back the passport stamped. Bon viajen, someone said. I spent the first night in El Remate, a small village near the Mayan ruins of Tikal, where I rented a small hut without door or windows for 35 quetzales (3 Euros). On the...
