Stonehenge an intimate portrait is a photographic study of Britain’s most iconic, well-visited and controversial prehistoric monument. I was given an unprecedented five days unrestricted access inside the stone circle by English Heritage to take photographs in 2007. Through these images, I hope the viewer is able to get much closer to the stones than visitors are able to do today. In doing so they will discover something of the depth of its personality. It will be the same format, covering Britain and Ireland from the end of Roman Britannia to the coming of the Normans. Friday, August 29, 2014. I love the wild horses of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. I believe this infrared image of a horse grazing on the sparse vegetation symbolizes the wonderful freedom we enjoy. Colorizing the original black and white adds a sense of drama for me, especially in the sky. I also enjoy the image in its original black and white.
