Thursday, June 3, 2010. The rest of the story. The rest of our Memorial Day Weekend was spent in pure bliss. At my parent's house in St Clair Shores. My mom made luxurious Belgian waffles for breakfast. I got a tan laying out at 10:00am. Took Elijah to the Memorial Day parade. Followed by made from scratch margaritas. Devoured Art's yummo chicken and steak fajitas. With his homemade guacamole. Ended the night with a campfire reese's peanut butter s'mores. The kids love having grandma grandpa around!

Adoption Story: Part II. August 31, 2009 · Filed under Uncategorized. Click here to read. Adoption Story: Part I. I’ve written many times in the past about my ability to jump into things without really thinking first. It seems as though I’ve done it again. The problem is this: the story isn’t just mine, Travis’, and Arle’s to tell. It’s also the story of Arle’s precious birth family and they are so incredibly important to us. Yes…I said SIX weeks. From the moment I received “the phone cal...Yes, telling ...

Archive for Momdiggity Style. July 20, 2009 · Filed under Momdiggity Style. We have been blessed with some seriously fabulous weather, the past few days. While our neighbors to the south are being tortured with temps over 100, we’ve been in a dreamland of high temps in the 70s/80s and lows in the 50s. It’s dreamy. Still though, I can’t help the fact that I become giddy at the mere mention of autumn. Last year I wrote about my love of all things fall. One of those “things” was the clothing. I was unfamili...

December 11, 2008 · Filed under Uncategorized. I’m going to preface this post with a warning to my Mother: I’m going to be using the word “poop” so you may want to stop reading now. Travis: The toilet’s clogged! I saw that earlier and meant to plunge it, but got distracted and forgot. Travis: Why did you clog it? Me: Do you seriously think my pee clogged the toilet? And do you really think I would do it on purpose? Travis: Well, when did you poop in it last? Me: I don’t know! Travis: Well, was it today?

February 18, 2012 · Filed under Uncategorized. Boyd Wright is here! Arrived: February 7, 2012 at 9:51 pm. Weight: 10 pounds, 5.5 ounces (true story). Length: 20 1/4 inches (although I watched the nurse measure him and his leg was not even close to being flat on the paper and I’m convinced he’s at least one inch longer than the recorded measurement). No such luck. I was still a one. No such luck. After 14 hours of labor, I was STILL a 2 1/2. It was a tough decision to make. Trav and I prayed and talke...

Heavenly Pasta and The Best Angel Food Cake. Ever. June 22, 2009 · Filed under Recipes. Trav had a big weekend. His birthday was on Saturday and then, of course, Father’s Day was yesterday. He golfed Saturday morning and then he and I went to the Royals game that afternoon and had a great time (even though Trav’s precious Royals got the snot beat out of ’em). I made a big birthday dinner and it turned out pretty stinkin’ yummy, if I may say so myself. Once again, Pioneer Woman. Yeah, that one.”. Bake one...

January 28, 2012 · Filed under Uncategorized. The question du jour seems to be, “Is the nursery ready? I’m pleased to finally be able to say, “Yes! Or maybe I should be honest and say, “Pretty much.”. I went out on my own and fell in love with this fabric. For a crib skirt and this sheet. I really want a plain linen colored bumper but have had zero luck finding one. And I both came home with major First Friday loot on our latest adventure down to the West Bottoms. I love how it all came together. The lar...

November 14, 2011 · Filed under Uncategorized. When I moved to Kansas City seven and a half years ago, I had no friends here. We knew no one. I remember praying and praying and praying that the Lord would bless us with amazing friends. Man, did He ever come through on the answer for that one. A group of these fab friends decided to throw me a baby shower. A FABULOUS baby shower. So creative, so delicious, so fun, so EVERYTHING. Meet the hostesses (minus Rachel-we missed you, Rachel!
