Since I published this article I located a documented 3-inch 20-gauge gun manufactured under special order in 1948! Model 21 20-Gauge, 3-Inch Magnum. The Model 21 20-gauge is one of only two Winchester Shotguns to introduce a new shotshell, the other is the Model 42 with the 3-inch .410 shell.
