The Bottomleys’ Trip to Alsace: Dijon, Wednesday October 15
http://alsacetrip.blogspot.com/2014/10/dijon-wednesday-october-15.html
The Bottomleys’ Trip to Alsace. September 26 – October 17, 2014. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Dijon, Wednesday October 15. Lots of walking around Dijon today, remembering how it used to be, seeing what’s still the same and what’s changed. And eating good food. First, this scene of a morning delivery to our hotel. Ah, the clatter of small wheels on ancient cobblestones. Bruce stayed at the fancy hotel in the background on his first trip to Dijon, before we discovered the Hotel du Sauvage. Sounds nicely me...

The Bottomleys’ China Trip: Wrapup
http://bottomleychinatrip.blogspot.com/2006/11/wrapup.html
The Bottomleys’ China Trip. Monday, November 06, 2006. This marks the end of the chronological part of our blog. We spent another week in Edmonton with Sarah and her family: being grandparents, helping out at Halloween, and simply relaxing. Our schedule is getting closer to normal but not quite there yet. We still feel a bit spacy. This was not sufficient grounds for us to miss the annual Veterans Day cruise for veterans in Baltimore Harbor on a restored WW II Liberty Ship. You’ve never really ...You wil...

http://bottomleychinatrip.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
The Bottomleys’ China Trip. Saturday, September 30, 2006. Countdown - Two Weeks to Go! We didn’t post anything yesterday on the exact Two Weeks to Go date because we devoted the entire day to getting back to Maryland from New Hampshire. The trip was one of the slowest ever, with two large traffic jams in Massachusetts and a never-ending one in New Jersey. A picture), then try clicking on one of these links:. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Wed Oct 11: Fly BWI – Edmonton. Stay at Hilton Garden Inn. Fri Oct...

Vegas, baby | Workfortravel's Weblog
https://workfortravel.wordpress.com/2008/02/25/vegas-baby
February 25, 2008. Little b landed the 09 International Builders’ Show design so we’re off to Vegas. How am I supposed to design to Vegas if I’ve only seen it on TV and movies. I’ve never booked a vacation directly through an airline Web site, but US Airways had the best price (and non-stop air) for the hotel I wanted. We leave on a Thursday evening, arriving in Vegas around 11pm, 3 nights at Mandalay Bay. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Costa Rica ’08 | Workfortravel's Weblog
https://workfortravel.wordpress.com/2008/05/09/costa-rica-08
May 9, 2008. Costa Rica ’08. Costa Rica was supposed to be our tenth anniversary gift to ourselves, but Vicki and Alex were kind enough to choose CR as their wedding destination. So, we got to go back a year early and now I get to dream up something else awesome for the tenth. The Liberia airport is actually two large airplane hangars! Our air-conditioned van was waiting for us and the ride was easy and uneventful. They had just had a soaking rain shower, but the roads seemed quite passable. That...We me...

Greece – planned | Workfortravel's Weblog
https://workfortravel.wordpress.com/2009/05/25/greece-–-planned
May 25, 2009. Our 13-day Greece trip, planned for early October, has firmed up nicely! I did have to get over the severe blow of finding my EXACT tickets available for $300 less per person, but the excitement of planning the rest of the trip has helped smooth those edges. We leave Baltimore late on a Wednesday and arrive in Heathrow the next AM. A short layover and then a four-hour flight to Athens, followed by a car pickup at the airport. The new Athens airport. I’ll continue this post shortly. You are ...

May 9, 2008. When I was young, my parents used to get so annoyed with me because I’d be asking about the next trip before the current one was even over. I think this must be a Myers Briggs thing because I couldn’t figure out why it made them so crazy. The way I like to deal with the end of one trip is by looking forward not so much by reflecting backwards. Call me pro-active. May ’08: Edmonton. July ’08: Vancouver (hopefully! This place ain’t cheap to get to). September ’09: Greece. On May 10, 2008.

http://germanypolandczechtrip.blogspot.com/2013/10/wednesday-october-2-2013_2.html
The Bottomleys’ and Gaugers’ Trip to Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic. September 29 – October 21 2013. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Having survived the Stau, we arrived in Goslar. Checked in to our rather funky hotel in the woods, drove the short distance in to town, wandered through a bit of the Altstadt (old town), and had a delightful dinner. Just off the main square. The Bottomleys’ and Gaugers’ Trip to Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic. September 29 – October 21 2013. Saturday, October 19, 2013. Monday, October 14, 2013. Prague, Czech Republic. Y nice breakfast at our hotel, and a quick read of the International Herald Tribune. On its last day of publication before morphing into the International New York. The IHT was a key part of our connection back to the US during our times abroad, and it's sad to see the name go away. The museum wrapped up with dramatic cover...
