Justin Metzler : July 2014
http://justinmetzlertriathlete.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. 2014 Challenge New Albany. Just one week after a hard fought battle at 70.3 Racine. Although it took me a couple of days to fully recover from Racine, come Wednesday I was feeling mostly back to normal (thanks to a few painful ice baths and a much needed massage). By Friday, the legs were feeling spry once again and after a few workouts, Jillian and I hit the road for the 7 hour drive to Columbus. I feel like I'm being followed. Who doesn't like a nice geek-out on some bike data?

Justin Metzler : May 2014

Monday, May 19, 2014. 2014 Memphis in May Triathlon. After scratching Leon’s Triathlon off the schedule a few weeks ago, I scrambled to throw another race on the calendar before toeing the line at Eagleman 70.3 on June 8. I was riding the high from my 4. Place finish at Collegiate Nationals and 8. Don't ask me why the race was dedicated to the country of Panama. As if I didn't stick out enough. Saturday morning began with a few scattered showers that we were forced to wait out as it took us over an hour.

Justin Metzler : May 2015
http://justinmetzlertriathlete.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Man This sport is harsh. The highs are so incredibly high but the lows are equally (and painfully) low. I consider myself a fairly level headed person but that last two months have been a true test. So before diving into Knoxville, let's take things back for a minute and reflect on what has gone down since 70.3 Puerto Rico in March. Riding up Carter Lake in Boulder, Colorado. Hanging with fellow Maverick teammate and Boulder local, Lesley Smith. Race morning went as smoothly as p...

Justin Metzler : February 2015
http://justinmetzlertriathlete.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 4, 2015. 7:00 alarm (but like a fine tuned machine, I woke up on my own 5 minutes before as usual). Roll out of bed, take down my clean clothes that have been hanging on the line outside to dry. Grab a few rice cakes with almond butter and a banana as I head out the door. Drive over to the National Training Center. Freeze my butt off as I sprint from the locker room, into the 50 degree tundra, clad only in my speedo and jump into the heated pool. Speedo tan lines are so hot right now.

Tuesday, March 17, 2015. 2015 Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico. Holy crap… 5 months can go by fast. It seems like yesterday I was crossing the finish line at 70.3 Augusta. Wrapping up my first season as a pro and reflecting on the amazing results I had all year. Since then, almost everything in my life has changed in one-way or another. I know the majority of you have been following along with my social media posts but for those that have been living under a rock, here are some of the highlights:. I had an hour ...

Justin Metzler : Clermont
http://justinmetzlertriathlete.blogspot.com/2015/01/clermont.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. With spirits high, I piled up the car and hit the road. I accumulated my yearly dosage of 5-hour trainer rides and -30 degree runs through the ice-latent roads around Iowa City. It was time for sun, warmth and happiness. So after 12 more hours of driving over two days, I arrived here. And it doesn't hurt that I swim here everyday. That's all for now. Sorry if I made any of my Midwestern friends jealous. Justin Metzler : December 2014
http://justinmetzlertriathlete.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 29, 2014. Six Frequently Asked Questions. Well, it's winter here in Iowa and it sucks. Not to mention, it's winter break for the University so the town usually buzzing with college students has overnight turned into a empty, quiet and lonely place- leaving the locals, the farmers and myself to face the negative 10 degree temps on our own. Question #1- Now that your (practically) done with college, isn't it time for you to get a real job? And rush into being miserable? Question #4- Don't ...
