Sean began playing the drums in the 4th grade in his school band. He continued to perform in this and other school musical groups including orchestra, jazz band and pep band. He also performed in the pit of the musicals "Godspell", "The Secret Garden", "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown", "Jesus Christ Superstar", and "The Wizard of Oz". In the eighth grade, Sean started a jam band named Liquid. This group would eventually evolve into a new act named Mad Hatter. For which Sean would record his first demo.
