A good friend encouraged me to take a cake class with her last August. We both loved it and have taken several classes. This has led me to start a small business. I started with practice cakes, and have ventured out to sell special occasion cakes. Although I have a full time job, cakes are my passion! Archive for June 2010. Most recent-birthdays and grads. On: June 11, 2010. A coworker’s son graduated high school this year. She had to threaten him to choose flavors. In the end, this is what he and his girlfriend decided. Dark Chocolate Fudge cakes with peanut butter filling. The black icing is dark chocolate buttercream and the red/white is plain buttercream. I thought this would be more fun than a cake shaped like a monkey! On: June 11, 2010. This is my first real wedding cake! I love this one!

Archive for April 2010. More Buttercream Birthday Fun. On: April 2, 2010. This cake was a borrowed idea….as are many of my designs. Allison and I were both looking for a golf themed cake, and she found the best one, complete with sand trap, water hazard and putting green. So we both made it! This cake was for a very special boy who just wanted “something army.” I searched ideas and did my best to put them together in a kid friendly cake. The decorating was super fun! Devon's Army Tank. Kid’s Birthday Cakes. On: April 2, 2010. I made this cake for a regular at my husband’s bar. She was concerned that no one would remember her birthday….but we did! I made this cake when I just had too much left over stuff….icing, cakes, fillings….The girls at work were more than happy to get rid of my overflow. This cake disappeared faster than any other I ever took to work! Fun cake for the girls at work! This year’s theme was “Christmas at Camp,” hence the color scheme and the presents. June 18, 2010 a...
