但這也不全是毫無科學根據的迷信 工研院經過十多年的努力，從菊科中草藥 山防風 ，成功提煉出抗癌化合物 多塞吩 ，並進行技術移轉，促使民間企業與國內研究機構合作，將中國人的智慧投入傳統中草藥的研究，也藉此以台灣本土技術在生技領域開發出一條新路。 山防風 俗稱 蛀骨草 ，是由已退休的工研院化工所研究員張錦得博士，送到美國國家研究中心進行活性測試後，與美國普渡大學合作篩選出 多塞吩 及其衍生物開發而成的抗癌化合物。 在看遍中西醫不見起色之餘，不得不把希望寄託在老祖宗留下來的偏方，後來吃了俗稱 蛀骨草 的中草藥後，情況改善很多，也因為這樣的因緣觸發了張博士決定以科學的方法，進一步來研究 山防風 的療效。 大家都說病痛是最難忍受的，我現在覺得 想念 才是最難的一關 拐進基隆俗稱 沙灣 的中船路小巷弄，現年六十八歲的顏鴛鴦女士正紅著眼眶回憶著。 深尋其根源，還是要回到中國老祖先身上 一般人恐怕只知道菊科植物的主治功能是清熱解毒、消腫止痛，但在前工研院張錦得博士不斷研究之下，終於發現了菊科植物中的 多塞吩衍生生物 成分，在抗癌活性、抗水種活性、干擾素引發活性，還有免疫調節活性上，扮演了非常重要的角色。
