None of us walkers had blisters on this trip for one. Poor Sybille had them already on the first day but she was a master in taking care of them. Her medical kit was equipped with everything you could think of, I reckon she could amputate a leg with it if necessary! Funny thing is that she was the only one wearing double socks, she had read this would prevent getting blisters. weird coincidence? The big toe of her left foot got damaged on the rocks while she slipped and cut it open. Cape to Cape Track.

We had a great spot at Contos due to Helge and Sybille being there on the 24th as we arrived the day after. But I have to say that the management of the camping, the rangers, are very unfriendly. We paid ahead for 6 nights as there was a slight plan to move for the last nigth. But we decided to stay at Contos as it will be full everywhere on the 31st. Starting a tour business? During the walk there were suggestions of starting a tour business and organise these kind of trips for tourists. It would be interesting to find out if this would work. The plan would be to advertise in Europe and to get adventurous people interested who want to do something different during their trip down under. What would we offer:. Pick up from lodging address in Perth Metro area. Transport to Leeuwin NP campsite. Transfers to start and end point each day (six days walking).

What to bring on the hike. What you definitely need to take hiking:. Minimum of 2L water. Hat/cap with flap to protect neck or a scarf. Fly net for those who hate the flys ;). Clothes in layers so you can peel of/on preferably light cotton. Take something for all weather types, although it's summer it can be cold and rainy. Easy walking shoes (I am planning to walk bare feet on the beach parts). Towel and bathing suit for a swim to cool of during breaks. Hips (what I prefer). Map of the route for that day.

26 May, 2015. Sea anemones in Coogee Beach. These beautiful Sea anemones are photographed by my friend Michele Kwok who snorkels almost every week at the Eco Shark Barrier. I love this but I am too scared of going under water so I am so happy to have Michele taking so many photos of this amazing underwater world. From here we head north and east for 5 months. 27th February - a bracing morning dip, 20m from our tent. 29th February - Drakensburg mountains, the Lake District without the rain. 1st March - the other Nelson’s column (on the left…). 1st March - That’ll teach us for being smug about the weather. Got chased off the mountain by an electrical storm. 4th March - So we water-bombed him.
