CAROLANN J ALLAN: Sewing bee inspired!
http://carolannjallan.blogspot.com/2015/02/sewing-bee-inspired.html
Embroideries / surface pattern design. Friday, 20 February 2015. It's the great British sewing bee. Time again and I am feeling inspired. Never done dress making before so thought I would give it a go. I love Merchant and Mills website. It's a modern day "old fashioned" draper with lots of style and brown paper! So I am trying their lovely Dress Shirt with Japanese cotton and a little bit of linen thread, so wish me luck! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ramblings of a textile artist! Hats in the Wind.
CAROLANN J ALLAN: April 2012
http://carolannjallan.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Embroideries / surface pattern design. Thursday, 19 April 2012. Last November I met Susan Crawford. At the Knitting and Stitch Show in Harrogate and yesterday had the pleasure of meeting her again. She adapts vintage knitting patterns and resizes them - but stays true to the original design. She has written 3 books. Two co-authored with Jane Waller) A Stitch in Time (Vol I&II). My knitting is basic to say the least but I hope sometime in the future I will have time to (try) knit one of her designs. A lot...

Embroideries / surface pattern design. Wednesday, 25 September 2013. My daughter will be leaving for uni the end of this week so it's been busy getting together everything she needs etc. I haven't been hand quilting as much as I had hoped but she also understands I don't want want to rush it and the quilt will be ready when she comes home for Christmas. I wrote the above post before taking my daughter down - Bristol is a beautiful city and it is lovely where she is living and studying, plus she has great...

And at the moment just playing and enjoying settling in. People keep asking me what I am doing - the truth is I am finding out for myself catching up with a few unfinished items (am sure everyone can relate to that! So for now . http://carolannjallan.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Embroideries / surface pattern design. Thursday, 7 November 2013. Fashion for the drab. I own up straight away for pinching the wonderful post title Claire Wellesley-Smith. Http:/ clarabellacraft.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/weekend.html. Last Saturday I went to her Muted palette workshop. Key drab into google and it comes up with the following:. Of a dull grayish to yellowish brown. Of a light olive brown or khaki color. Faded and dull in appearance. Dull or commonplace in character; dreary: a drab personality.

Hats in the Wind. A window into the chaos of my millinery and the paths that I follow to make sense of developing a sustainable venture around hats. Friday, 27 July 2012. Next Stage of the Exhibition Process. Not the new exhibit, just more preparation. Setting up Hot Heads was an exciting process, daunting in that we didn't have all the hats! Was definitely a surreal moment, especially when working so well with other designers. All a very interesting learning curve. What shall we put where? So much to do.

I'm Carol, a 31 year old multimedia designer and developer. I have the awesome opportunity to work with a wide variety of applications, mediums, clients, and projects. I get to design websites, create motion graphics, help build brands and identities, manipulate photos not bad for "work" if I don't say so myself. I like to stay busy - so in my free time I help run the marketing for my mom's company, moBella Bags. And my husband and I run a vinyl decal business, Creative Vinyl Graphics.
