Mrs Crosbie: More POST IT drawings
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2014/12/more-post-it-drawings.html
Wednesday, 3 December 2014. More POST IT drawings. We then started working with a number of post it notes with groups of curved lines like little rainbows or "nobows" as the children were calling them because of the lack of colour. Sometimes we added the post it notes to a larger piece of paper and extended the lines creating linear patterns and helping the children with their pen control and allowing them to express their own designs. Sometimes I find it hard to use anything else. Meet Me At Mikes :.

Mrs Crosbie: POST IT portraits
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2014/12/post-it-portraits.html
Wednesday, 3 December 2014. It's not a new lesson I have seen it done before. But it really works so well and gives the children such confidence at a crucial time in their artistic and intellectual development . It still amazes me to think that these children have achieved such a high standard of draftsmanship at such a young age. Some fun was had with some of the spare pieces too! And some of the younger classes recreated another masterpiece, would Van Gogh have been proud too? View my complete profile.

Mrs Crosbie: November 2012
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 15 November 2012. Could you GET any more colour? Sometimes colour theory can be such a task. And Class teachers are soon expecting Christmasy or wintery stuff for the walls - too early! So I devised a colour wheel with a snow flake design. The class were given a folded 1/6 of a circle (yes more maths), and cut a simple snowflake segment. this was used as a template to draw a complete snowflake. (The children thought that they could reuse the template to make reindeer antlers.). These 6, 7 and 8...

Mrs Crosbie: April 2015
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 1 April 2015. THE CORBIE part II. THE CORBIE" part II. The Corbie, such a good poem and such a great subject. I love crow images, so full of life and movement. The children appreciate the sini. Ster qualities that the bird represents. It's also a great way to learn the words of the poem. The class then created a crow shaped stencil (tricky cutting) and using soft drawing pencils the scribbled through the opening. It is important that the pupils do not outline the shape of the crow but let ...

Mrs Crosbie: December 2012

Wednesday, 5 December 2012. Mrs Crosbie's New Coat. Its not often that I get to draw with the infant department but when I do its such a treat. To try and get some of these pupils to add bodies, legs and hands to their figures I arrived in my shiny new coat and creeper boots! And this is what they made of me! I folded up the paper into three so the children were encouraged to see where the head, body and legs were to go, and we did each bit a stage at a time to give them confidence. Meet Me At Mikes :.

Mrs Crosbie: September 2013
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Friday, 20 September 2013. First term, and a three week block of observational drawings. Not quite finished but too good not to share! I wanted to get the pupils to really look at details of small, unfamiliar objects. Feathers seemed to be the perfect thing. We started off looking at the linear patterns and recreated the feathers with soft pencils and water soluble crayons. Peacock feathers next, what a gift! Shall I start saving? Attention seeking behaviour or what? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Http:/ ww...

Mrs Crosbie: February 2013
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 February 2013. Yarn Bombing - Eassie Style. A big box of wool, 4 old canvases, some old pizza boxes, and an unseasonal sunny day were the inspirations for this project. At Eassie Primary all the children get involved, all 19 of them! Some of the Pom Poms never made it to the spherical stage but were added on to the collage. The weather was so good we decided to go out and "Yarn Bomb" the playground! I even get paid for this! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget.

Mrs Crosbie: LETS GET THE PAINT OUT!
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2015/02/lets-get-paint-out.html
Wednesday, 18 February 2015. LETS GET THE PAINT OUT! You need to be prepared for the children to produce many pieces of work! Organise the drying and make sure that every piece of paper is named. Language can also play a part in this lesson. The children can consider the experience as a series of "ing" words. It's a really worthwhile exercise. Some children added lollypop tree trunks to the finished work. I have also used the painted paper sheets to create African masks. Get the paints out! My Adventures...

Mrs Crosbie: March 2014
http://mrs-crosbie.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 21 March 2014. Sometimes pinning drawings to the wall is just not enough. I wanted my pupils to gather their drawings in the form of a book. We used goose quills and ink to decorate the front and back covers. The children learned that repetitive words can make a great pattern and texture, regardless of spelling! Drawings were glued together in a long panel and the pages were simply constructed, folded concertina style. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget.
