Alain Saffel: the journalist: Life, the elections and everything
http://alainthejournalist.blogspot.com/2008/01/life-elections-and-everything.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Thursday, January 17, 2008. Life, the elections and everything. I’d like to say my life has been exciting lately, but it really hasn’t. I’ve been working, packing up the house and attempting to imitate Mike Holmes around here in my renos. The move to Edmonton is really only a couple weeks away. The only really exciting thing is that I think I’m being cyberstalked. Fun huh? Aside from all that, isn’t 2008 shaping up to be an interesting year?

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Monday, December 31, 2007. 2007 in review and 2008 forecast. Here we are at the end of another year. Might as well do my final post on that year. It won’t be the last post on this blog, but you have probably noticed they’ve been fewer in number in the past six months. That is likely to continue as I embark on different projects in 2008. It looks like it will be an exciting year! But first, some light humour. Heard in Starbucks last night.

Alain Saffel: the journalist: Don't be so serious
http://alainthejournalist.blogspot.com/2008/01/dont-be-so-serious_04.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Friday, January 04, 2008. Don't be so serious. I know I should be commenting on all the serious crap going on in the world. Yeah, I know. Take a few seconds, relax, look at these comics. Laugh. It’ll all be better soon. Wait I have an ex-wife. Okay, so it's complicated. I have been accused of being over-educated and overqualified. It only means I know what I'm talking about, or does it? I'm going to check on flights to Mexico. :). Mercer for...

On that note, I could write a book about my dealings ...

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Back from the honeymoon. So now I’m back to work. I found out that my presence will be requested in Quesnel to serve as relief editor while the current editor goes on holidays. I’m looking forward to that. : ). I’ve been writing a lot during our honeymoon. I bought a Moleskine journal a while ago, so I felt guilty and thought I should begin to fill it. Did I ever! Posted by Alain Saffel at 12:48 PM. Not sure what el...

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Monday, October 13, 2008. As you can see from the sorry state of my blog, I haven't been here in a while. This will likely be my last post, ever, here. No, I'm moving to a new blog location: http:/ alainsaffel.com. Make a note of it. That doesn't mean it will disappear though. You'll still be able to read all my pithy posts here, as long as the Great Google is willing to keep Blogger rolling. Posted by Alain Saffel at 11:24 PM. Train graffit...

Alain Saffel: the journalist: Does the news get better? Not right now.
http://alainthejournalist.blogspot.com/2008/02/does-news-get-better-not-right-now.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Monday, February 11, 2008. Does the news get better? How insulated will Canada be from all this? Well, people will still be driving, so Alberta should be fine. The real problem is going to be the psychology. Will people avoid going into a panic over the bad news? Doubt it. The panic will be worse among people who know they're not in good shape. Why is it that they never figure this out before everything hits the fan? 3 Invest. RRSPs, etc.

http://alainthejournalist.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Alain Saffel: the journalist. Thursday, March 31, 2005. Oil at $105 a barrel? So oil prices are "predicted" by some investment bank, Goldman Sachs to be specific, to go to $105 a barrel. Just imagine what that will do to gasoline prices. From the CBC story:. Oil prices will continue to rise, mainly due to the fact that we’re reaching the world’s peak production capacity, after which production will decline. This "super spike" I believe is a manufactured event mainly ...
