Blues From Down Here: BFDH Endorses: the Mint Julep
http://bluesfromdownhere.blogspot.com/2009/05/bfdh-endorses-mint-julep.html
Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Friday, May 01, 2009. BFDH Endorses: the Mint Julep. 6 Fresh Mint Leaves. 1 Tbsp Simple Syrup. 2 oz Bourbon (Knob Creek or Jim Beam Black are great). Combine the mint and simple syrup in the bottom of the glass. Using the handle end of the spoon, gently. Muddle the leaves and simple syrup. Add the bourbon, then the top with lots of crushed. I prefer a cracker. I don't get it. The drink is only 2oz. 1tbsp of liquid? Or do you wait for the ice to melt?

Blues From Down Here: April 2008
http://bluesfromdownhere.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. The following is the first installment of a three part Blues From Down Here serial on the great American dream, the dream of blindly cashing in on a preposterous sum of unearned money. Part 1: The Ticket. What if this guy, the guy in front of me, that plays the numbers that (by any number of small twists of fate) could have been mine, wins the money? Cue the sound of a balloon being punctured and it expelling air as it wildly ex...

Blues From Down Here: March 2009
http://bluesfromdownhere.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Saturday, March 28, 2009. The Mexican immigrant worker in New York is a perfect example of the hero who has gone unnoticed. It is common for a Mexican worker in New York to work extraordinary hours in extreme conditions for very low wages which are saved at great cost and sacrifice and sent to families and communities in Mexico who rely on them to survive. My blog has become determinately more focused on a few simple themes over the past weeks. I fi...

Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Thursday, January 17, 2008. Literally looking for change in the couches. I have about 7-10 minutes before the chinese food delivery guy arrives and i have to admit that i'm embarrassed. i realized that, after covering the cost of the meal, i have less than a dollar to tip. oh, did i mention that it's raining outside. I'm sorry i haven't blogged more/better. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Literally looking for change in the couches.

Blues From Down Here: July 2009
http://bluesfromdownhere.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Thursday, July 09, 2009. Like most unemployed men I made myself a bowl of Golden Grahams and plopped down on the couch to watch ESPN's new afternoon offering, Sports Nation. It's a highly interactive sports show that bounces every 45 seconds to a new topic and depends heavily on real time voting and viewer participation - basically it's PTI meets Twitter. NFL Network's Michelle Beisner. I know that a deep seeded sexism in me will never allow me to watch...

Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Modern day procrastination isn't just limited to the masses of starry eyed collegiate slackers out there. I have one hour to learn about 30 menu items for a new restaurant gig I've lined up, and, naturally, I'm perusing my bookmarks for little bits of internet interest. It really isn't a big deal, but it does raise a pertinent question: Does one really ever grow out of the ugly habit of procrastination? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Blues From Down Here: August 2008
http://bluesfromdownhere.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Blues From Down Here. A blog that eats like a meal. Friday, August 29, 2008. I love internet comment threads. I love 'em. They mix the finest examples of wit and humor with the most embarrassing faux pas of style and grammar. Everyone has a chance to speak their peace in a premeditated and absolute manner, and ultimately be engaged in "real" discussion. Today I noticed that one of Justin's. Do you think that increasing the body count is going to act as a deterrent? You're damn right I do. Why not just po...
