FAQ | What a Mess

https://citrusfreak.wordpress.com/faq

The ramblings of a bearded disaster. Pretty good, you? How often do you update this thing? Maybe a couple times a year. Why don’t you write more? 8220;No man but a blockhead ever wrote, except for money.” – Samuel Johnson. No, I just can’t find the time, and when I can I find I have nothing to say. Does anyone actually read your blog? No, not really. They mostly just stumble across it while Googling stuff about Bioshock. I never should have written that entry. Only the one about bananas. The ramblings of a bearded disaster. Newer posts →. March 30, 2008. A recent question on AskMetaFilter. Reminded me of a couple ideas for martinis I’ve had. I haven’t worked out the specific measurements, as I lack the time or materials, but maybe it’d be a good project for this summer. The clamtini. Pretty simple, really. Vodka and clam juice (Snow’s comes to mind), perhaps garnished with a littleneck clam. A Question for Mom. March 10, 2008. Me: Do you know if my mask thing is at home? October 24, 2007.

The ramblings of a bearded disaster. April 9, 2008. Flickr does videos now. This is awesome. Assuming wordpress will allow me to embed them at some point.* I’ve been wanting to do short clips of places. Moving photos really. I got the idea after seeing something on someones blog where they just post “soundscapes,” recordings of their surroundings. This is the exactly what I wanted to do. Hooray. Update: Apparently there is already support for embedding Flickr Video. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

King Richard’s Faire | What a Mess

https://citrusfreak.wordpress.com/2008/11/14/king-richards-faire

The ramblings of a bearded disaster. Internet slow, disconnecting, possibly mad at me? You know who else wrote editorials? King Richard’s Faire. November 14, 2008. I was also very, very mistaken. King Richard’s Faire is not Sturbridge Village; it’s not a museum, it’s not educational, it’s not historically accurate, and it lacks any truly immersive quality whatsoever. I wrote this for one of my journalism classes. I got an A-. This entry was posted in Writing. And tagged I didn't even take any pictures.

Over-Analysis For Social Change. Putting my college education to good use. The Banality of Evil. January 4, 2008. Related to my previous post, here’s a very interesting essay on the Banality of Evil. Which helps explain why as soon as there’s an “us” and a “them,” humans tend to turn against “them.” Certainly helps answer the question of why we’re so reluctant to step in to help “them,” whoever “they” might be. One Response to “The Banality of Evil.”. January 5, 2008 at 10:22 pm. Enter your comment here.

Over-Analysis For Social Change. Putting my college education to good use. Breaking out of Foucault. February 5, 2008. While Netflixing Season 2 of Prison Break. Some thoughts thus far! Chapter 1, The body of the condemned. The state has also been removed from the process. Instead of an identifiable executioner, the process is now completely mechanized and sterile. The actual procedure for a lethal injection. Is as medically simple as a blood transfusion, except of course, for the end result. Of cour...

Sanity is often the biggest “cost” in health care. | Over-Analysis For Social Change

Over-Analysis For Social Change. Putting my college education to good use. Sanity is often the biggest “cost” in health care. February 23, 2008. I try not to pay too much attention to the outside world as it just makes me foam at the mouth with righteous indignation. I don’t know what possessed me to start reading the NYT on a regular basis again, but here I am, keeping up with the world and occasionally wanting to kick it in the nuts. Like this. This article. It’s that easy! I’d like to wag some f...

What a Mess | The ramblings of a bearded disaster

The ramblings of a bearded disaster. You know who else wrote editorials? February 27, 2009. I read an editorial in my school’s newspaper today, written by my friend/editor. Twitter: New social network acts as the Ultimate Stalker Tool. Oh boy. Sounds like my friend could get a job at The Daily Mail. So I wrote this email to her/the paper:. First off, nice sensationalist headline: The ultimate stalker tool indeed. I’m interested to see why you think this is the case, but we’ll get to that later. So as far...
