30 Days In Rome: Total Recall
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2013/03/total-recall.html
30 Days In Rome. Monday, March 18, 2013. Memory can be a very powerful thing, especially memory of days that were more than a little challenging. My strongest recollections of travel, for instance, are from awful, long days on trains in India, terrifying trips atop buses through the high Nepal Himalaya, a flight with Sam to Rome that almost turned us off travel forever and one particular evening in Prague. It was Jenny’s 30. One that we’d never forget. Una-Bomber caught a little shut-eye between blasts.

30 Days In Rome: Day at the museum
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2013/03/day-at-museum.html
30 Days In Rome. Saturday, March 30, 2013. Day at the museum. And Edvard Munch's The Scream. As I jostled my way through the camera-toting tourists with Sam and a pram I understood Munch's inspiration for his most renowned piece. Around each of these famous works, gallery-goers were lined five deep snapping pictures of the pictures. Posted by Chris Sheedy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 30 Days In Rome: Escape From New York
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2013/04/escape-from-new-york.html
30 Days In Rome. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Escape From New York. The final few days involved, as always, a lot of walking, multiple visits to Starbucks and many wonderful surprises. Apart from a few rides on the Staten Island Ferry, we’d never left the island of Manhattan before, so it was also brilliant to see it from across the Hudson once or twice. Another mocha bites the dust - this time in City Hall Park. In the cable car to Roosevelt Island. Posted by Chris Sheedy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

30 Days In Rome: A Big Wish
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2011/03/big-promise.html
30 Days In Rome. Thursday, March 3, 2011. 8220;Paris is the starting point of success,” wrote Victor Hugo way back in 1867. His words were intended for the attendees of the Exposition Universelle that very same year, but for us they ring as true as the day they were written. This trip has confirmed for our family what we have known for the last few years, that Europe (if not Paris) is where we are most comfortable. It was a spectacular combination, I admitted,. 30 Days In Rome: On the Road Again
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2013/03/on-road-again.html
30 Days In Rome. Saturday, March 23, 2013. On the Road Again. Following two wonderful days on Campobello Island we are now back in Massachusetts, heading to New York. Campobello was a most amazing destination. The island, which lies off the coast of New Brunswick, Canada, is reached via the two-lane Franklin Delano Roosevelt Bridge in Lubec, Maine. US Customs sits at one end of the bridge, Canadian Customs lies at the other. The view of Lubec, Maine, USA from Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada.

30 Days In Rome: February 2011
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
30 Days In Rome. Sunday, February 27, 2011. Almost Thrown By A Citroen. Anyway, after a thoroughly lovely evening and our first full night’s sleep of the entire trip we headed out this morning for a huge walk to the Eiffel Tower (about eight kilometres), which Sam walked entirely without complaint. We were very proud of our fit little trooper. On the way we stopped at the bird markets on the Ile de la Cite. Sam and Mummy at the bird markets. A place to buy more Sams. Sam at the Louvre. We met Chris after...

30 Days In Rome: A Bit of Proctor
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-bit-of-proctor.html
30 Days In Rome. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. A Bit of Proctor. Birthplace of author Nathaniel Hawthorne (The Scarlett Letter) and home to the witch trials of the late 1600s, Salem, Massachusetts is also the setting of my favourite drama of all time, The Crucible. I was first introduced properly to The Crucible. When Chris and I decided to get married, I made the choice not to change my surname to Sheedy. This didn’t strike me as being an extremely controversial move, but I unexpectedly received a ...When we...

30 Days In Rome: Up, Up & Away
http://30daysinrome.blogspot.com/2011/03/up-up-away.html
30 Days In Rome. Saturday, March 5, 2011. Up, Up and Away. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and yesterday, the Arc de Triomphe – the steps that Chris, Sam and I have ascended during this holiday have been equal to several days on a Stairmaster … I hope. It may make up for the fact that everything we have put in our mouths seems to have been cooked, coated or confited in saturated fat…. Atop the Arc de Triomphe. In playground under the ever-watchful eye of Mr Eiffel. Posted by Chris Sheedy. Http:/ w...
