Sandgroper Gardening: April 2013
http://sandgropergardening.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Gardening on the sandy slopes of Perth, by Lake Monger. Thursday, April 25, 2013. Construction, production with chooks and compost. A constructive day in the garden today. . . Simon's compost bin from reclaimed pallets. In terms of compost production, I'm hoping we can bulk up a bit more by getting leftovers from the nearby markets. This can also help to feed the chooks, as our kitchen scraps are pretty meagre really. They are so cute. :o). Chook tractor made with polypipe and bird netting. After celanin...

Gardening on the sandy slopes of Perth, by Lake Monger. Saturday, August 11, 2012. How edible is your town? An entertaining talk by Pam Warhurst. About growing vegies across our towns and cities where land is unused (even growing stuff in cemeteries! There's so many people that don't really recognize a vegetable unless it's in a bit of plastic with an instruction packet on the top.” (Pam Warhurst). Inspiring just to "do it" :o). Sandgroper Gardening: March 2014
http://sandgropergardening.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Gardening on the sandy slopes of Perth, by Lake Monger. Sunday, March 9, 2014. Capers: stems, seeds and soil! Found this great post on Michelle Hamer's blog, From Seed to Table. On growing and propagating capers. Great to have some firsthand experience of growing these amazing plants. I've been looking for some good info on propagating capers and this is the best so far. We had our first caper berry a couple of months ago - a lovely plump specimen! The bush itself is probably some 12 months old.

Sandgroper Gardening: March 2013
http://sandgropergardening.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Gardening on the sandy slopes of Perth, by Lake Monger. Monday, March 18, 2013. Picked up some more compost and manure today and found a caper bush. Love capers but don't know much about them as a plant. I didn't realise there were native Australian varieties. As well, but called a wild orange (or pomegranate). There's an organic producer based in South Australia. That is doing some nice capers, plus the caper berries and also the leaves (check out their range. Will keep you posted! Monday, March 18, 2013.

Sandgroper Gardening: September 2012
http://sandgropergardening.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Gardening on the sandy slopes of Perth, by Lake Monger. Monday, September 24, 2012. Ingenious plants: onion weed. While we were giving the garden a spring clean-up and planting seedlings over the weekend, I also dug out a huge couple of handfuls of onion weed (. What an ingenious plant it is too! It ensures its survival by growing smaller bulbs, or bulbils, off the main bulb, which, when disturbed, break away to take up a new, vigorous life of their own, multiplying your onion weed problem in no time!

My day to day life while studying abroad at Murdoch University in Western Australia. Thursday, August 26, 2010. I don't know, but it sounds Australian! I felt very accomplished today. I made a list of things that I had to do today before leaving for the Northwest trip tomorrow, and I got them all done! I woke up at 9:30ish and started to write my paper. I then took a break to actually wash my dishes that were piling up. That's the reason that I only have a few dishes, I won't wash them otherwise! Wednesd...
