Experience using an Apple Lisa – classicmacs.org
http://classicmacs.org/2014/05/experience-using-an-apple-lisa
Celebrating Classic Apple Technology. Experience using an Apple Lisa. Even though I have been using Macs for most of the three decades they have been around, I’ve never had a chance to use an Apple Lisa, the famous predecessor to the Macintosh that cost a cool $10K back in 1983 (or nearly $24K in today’s inflated dollars). And stirred up lots of new interest for LisaEm. Explore Ray’s site. Is extensive. His Lisa Sites section includes a vast number of links to other Lisa-related sites and resources&#...

Celebrating Classic Apple Technology. Macworld debuts new weekly “Think Retro” column. I was excited to see a new weekly column. Devoted to vintage Apple products debut on the Macworld web site in November. Written by Christopher Phin. In contrast, “Think Retro” is clearly a labor of love, written with genuine care and respect for the topics and illustrated with brilliant photographs you can tell weren’t culled from stock images. Check out the introductory column,. A Love Letter to the Apple Logo. And wh...

Color Classic Web Server News. Thursday, January 19, 2012. Color Classic falls victim to leaky caps. After nearly 20 years of service the Macintosh Color Classic that powers the Color Classic web server succumbed to the fate most common to vintage electronics: leaking capacitors. If you examine the picture of the logic board above you can see the evidence yourself - the dark areas around the three round capacitors in the upper right corner are the most telling. Color Classic Web Server News. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. 2009 uptime for the Color Classic web server. 2009 started off a bit rocky for uptime, as a combination of a flaky router and spring thunderstorms in central Texas combined to take the server offline when it lost its internet connection or electrical power. Replacing the router and adding a UPS improved uptime significantly as you can see from the bar graph below. Color Classic Web Server - HTTP. 1 Jan - 31 Dec 2009. Color Classic gets a new home.

Now that the new OHMS site is launched I need to take time to streamline it and speed up the loading time. Two essential tools I’ve discovered to measure, analyze, and diagnose problems with site loading time are Pingdom Tools Full Page Test. And Google’s Page Speed Online. Pingdom’s test provides the total load time (17.3 seconds over a cable modem, ouch! And how did that 79K image get in there? May 28, 2014.

Thoughts Channeled Through Macintosh. Subscribe to Rancho Chase. 6th grade graduation songs. Back in May I was tasked with creating a music video for my daugher’s sixth grade graduation class, and spent many hours pondering which song(s) to use. In the end I chose no fewer than 8 from the list I posted earlier. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of many parents of the sixth graders I had a bountiful selection of photos to accompany each of the songs. 1 All The Way Up. 2 Do You Remember. 4 Make it Shine.

http://news.colorclassic.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Color Classic Web Server News. Monday, February 16, 2009. Back on track with uptime. Swapping out the router seems to have done the trick to get the Color Classic reliably back online. The downtime hasn't been the fault of the CC; the prior Netgear router would randomly "forget" it's port forwarding settings and instead of sending http requests to the web server on the Color Classic it would handle them with it's own internal web server that's used to configure the router settings. Back on track with upt...
