Coach B Dud's Blog: Tracking Off-Season Attendance

http://coachbdud.blogspot.com/2015/01/tracking-off-season-attendance.html

Sunday, January 11, 2015. 3 years ago I started an "off-season points program" for our kids. Players are expected to earn a minimum number of points either by playing other sports or lifting with me after school. There are a lot of kids, and since our off season program runs from January - May, a lot of days to take attendance. This isn't rocket science but below I share how I take roll every day, and am able to track every member of our football program, using excel. April 22, 2016 at 3:06 AM.

Coach B Dud's Blog: Power Variations #2 - Super Power

http://coachbdud.blogspot.com/2014/12/power-variations-2-super-power.html

Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Power Variations #2 - Super Power. The bread and butter of any Double Wing(DW) attack is Super Power. Traditional Super Power is the same as the standard power I described yesterday (play side down blocks, with a FB kick out, and a back side guard wrap) but the SUPER in super power comes from adding an additional puller/wrapper. Now usually, DW teams use guard and tackle as pullers and have TE cut block to stop backside pursuit of the play. Coming tomorrow, 1 back power! Coach...

Coach B Dud's Blog: February 2015

http://coachbdud.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 16, 2015. Putting size on to players is a difficult but crucial part of off season development as well as in season maintenance. I have coached at 2 schools are the lowest end of the socioeconomic spectrum. Most of the kids struggle to get enough calories in their bodies to just maintain while working out, let alone add on size. The rest of the ideas all come with a cost. Someone has to pay for more food beyond the after school program. Some options include. Coach(es) buying the food.

Coach B Dud's Blog: Power Variations #3 - 1 Back Power

http://coachbdud.blogspot.com/2014/12/power-variations-3-1-back-power.html

Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Power Variations #3 - 1 Back Power. Standard power is a great play, BUT it requires you have a lead blocking back in the game. I knew early on that POWER would be our best play, but wanted to be able to do it from different formations and not rely on HAVING to have our FB in the game. Against an odd front we most often see the play side DT lined up head up to outside of our OT so he would base block. We just about always see a defender lined up head up or outside of our ...

Compete In All Things. Football, books, and thoughts without bias or discretion. Ok, some bias. November 15, 2011. Random Motivation: Bruce Lee. Compete In All Things. Football, books, and thoughts without bias or discretion. Ok, some bias. March 30, 2013. Shallow Cross: WHY IS HE ALWAYS OPEN? The first thing that I wanted to do was establish basic rules for the concept before branching out into tags and these are what I settled on:. 1-Tagged receiver runs the Shallow. Typically this is either a slot or a TE, but can be an outside receiver, too. 2-Inside receiver opposite the Shallow runs the Dig/Hunt. What I like about the Drive concept is that ...

BECOMING A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS: Be careful what you wish for....

http://becomingamanforallseasons.blogspot.com/2012/06/be-careful-what-you-wish-for.html

BECOMING A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Be careful what you wish for. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The brain has two minds: the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious. Mind accepts our thoughts and passes the information on to the subconscious,. Which records, sorts, and produces our thoughts. I call this the Human Computer. Because of its similar functions to the manufactured computers we use every day. Imagined; it only processes the input passed to it.Give it clean,.

BECOMING A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living. The unexamined life is not worth living.". Is the identity of your team what you wanted to be known for? We should analyze the off the field program the same way, re-examing everything from the strength program to how we handled discipline. BECOMING A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Taking the Bull By The Horns. Wouldn't a player be better off learning to play the cut block properly? The other issue is one of strategy or alignment and the risk of thinking outside the box. In an earlier post, I mentioned a certain front that we used called BULL. We started off using BULL. I will start off describing BULL. Up front we will play with a 0 tech NG and two 3 tech:. The 3 techniques are told to penetrate B gap. Against tight...

http://becomingamanforallseasons.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

BECOMING A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Saturday, March 24, 2012. READ: Simplified Combination Coverage. Originally I wanted a way that I could turn my 2 inverts (We call them Spurs) loose to play 100 % run vs 2 RBs without telegraphing the fact that we were in Cover Zero. What we came up with is this:. The CB aligns at 7-10 yds deep over the #1 receiver. The interior defender (FS or Spur) aligns 10-12 yds deep over the #2 receiver. Both players will “Read”. To the two receiver side, the FS and CB are executing ...

You're either getting better or you're getting worse. You never stay the same. Friday, January 27, 2012. Book Review: Complete Linebacking. Sometimes I forget just how much better (and cheaper! Books are than DVDs. Although it helps to see live video of drills, Complete Linebacking. By Lou Tepper is the most in-depth look at a position I've ever seen compiled in one place. BECOMING A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Saturday, July 9, 2011. Linebacker Keys in the 3-3 Stack Defense Part 3. Wing-T or Dbl Wingbacks. The formation that we see the most of is probably some form of Dbl Wing. We use the following keys out of our Stacked alignment. OLBs both key the opposite HB or WB:. 8226; If the key comes to (motion or after snap) – Outside Point. 8226; If the key stays away – Hit Inside Point looking for the FB Trap/Dive. The MLB keys both WBs (using peripheral vision):. Simple secret that ...
