The first one is turquoise leopard print and reads "Love to Be Glam." The second is hot pink and reads "Kiss me, I'm cute." The third is pale pink, and is adorned with a crown, reading, "Princess.". My very first thoughts went to consent, because messages about consent - including who gets to give consent - are being delivered from a very young age. Let's look back ...

A glimpse into our mimsy life-learning days. Saturday, June 9, 2012. Recently while chatting, he learned a few things about the lives of people he knows, which prompted him to say he was grateful for his life. After he shared his gratitude, I shared how I keep a gratitude journal on my bedside table, where I try to write a few things each night for which I'm thankful. He was curious for a minute. A glimpse into our mimsy life-learning days. Thursday, February 20, 2014. Home Base, Take Two. There were several reasons I found this photo unsettling, and I’d like to touch on several of them. Before I do so, let me assure you, I have children, one living, and one deceased. I do not, and have never used, punishment. My son, now age 13, is a lovely human being. A glimpse into our mimsy life-learning days. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. How do you do it? It is a question I am asked often, in various forms. How do you walk back into the hospital? How will you remain emotionally stable among intense medical situations? Some people return to the hospital setting as therapy.," the question both veiled and valid. Hyde Family Life in Pictures. Love to you and the boys 3. May 27, 2015 at 5:35 PM. I love your post. All of your writing makes me think and imprints itself in...

http://mybeamishboy.blogspot.com/2013/05/inked-with-meaning.html
A glimpse into our mimsy life-learning days. Monday, May 27, 2013. I always intend to write before another day marking Isaiah's time with us rolls around, but it seems on these days, his birth day, his death day, I give myself the space needed to sit with words. Last week, after many years of pondering, I went to the local tattoo shop, Pincushn's. The eight points of the left forearm represent the Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism. During a commencement speech, about viewing your goal as a mountain, and n...

Open-Hearted Life: July 2010
http://openheartedlife.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Meeting my life and experiences with an open heart. most of the time. I'm that mom who is my children's friend. Because being their friend means I take their needs - and their wants! I am my children's friend because I give them space to explore their own values, I don't expect them to share mine. I don't tell them what they should eat, and I don't say things like, "There's no way you could be hungry! I am my children's friend because. I am their mom. Blogpost inspired by this post. Open-Hearted Life: A Note to a Bowl
http://openheartedlife.blogspot.com/2010/08/note-to-bowl.html
Meeting my life and experiences with an open heart. most of the time. A Note to a Bowl. Dear Little Plastic Bowl,. Just a note to let you know, I have decided you are fine as you are. Yes, you are stained, and yes I *could* clean you until you were discolored no more. I briefly considered scrubbing you with a Brillo pad, and leaving you to soak with bleach so you would be free of that red-orange hue. Ah, but bowl, I have come up against my perfectionist tendencies. So, for today, I will let you be. Thank...
