Moving Out. | Cooking Bytes - the journey of a cookbook

https://cookingbytes.wordpress.com/2013/12/25/moving-out

Cooking Bytes – the journey of a cookbook. A mother's gift to her kids. A Comma or a Semicolon or a Kitchen Center Island? Now that I am here, finally writing this post I realize that it was not only Olga’s writing style that tickled my writing bone that morning. Her post also made me think back to the time that we moved out of our first house into the home we are currently in. It has been a little over 9 years now. How time flies! Looking back, we should have probably waited till the baby was older befo...

Cooking Bytes – the journey of a cookbook. A mother's gift to her kids. Moving Out. →. A Comma or a Semicolon or a Kitchen Center Island? Through the magic of Twitter, I recently stumbled up on this. Article about the use of a comma. The article indicates that it is the fifth part in a series with answers to questions about the comma. “Really! So many questions about a comma? So I sat back and started writing. I was so happy he likes sledding with me as much as I like sledding with both of them. Challenge...

Cooking Bytes – the journey of a cookbook. A mother's gift to her kids. I am a software developer with a deep love of cooking. Cooking helps me forget the day. It is my idea of meditation! As I sit here letting my mind wander to that time when we lived in our first house in Bridgeton, so many memories, mainly good ones, very good ones actually, wash over me. In her post Olga mentions that she felt her current home was ready for her to move out. Things that. Looking back, we should have probably waited ti...

Thirty Days. | Cooking Bytes - the journey of a cookbook

https://cookingbytes.wordpress.com/2013/12/02/thirty-days

Cooking Bytes – the journey of a cookbook. A mother's gift to her kids. Back to the drawing board. A friend of mine, Max, recently started posting his Origami animal creations on Facebook. One animal per day. I noticed that he had started doing this during November. I was intrigued. So after liking about six of his daily origami animal posts, I broke down and asked him “Is November a ‘create an origami animal a day’ month? Of course that was the first thought that occurred to me! Which had inspired him&#...

A tribute to my favorite chef! | Cooking Bytes - the journey of a cookbook

https://cookingbytes.wordpress.com/2011/03/06/a-tribute-to-my-favorite-chef

Cooking Bytes – the journey of a cookbook. A mother's gift to her kids. Sesame pasta. →. A tribute to my favorite chef! Dee, Candis and I decided that our second “cooking together” blog project would be a tribute to each of our favorite chefs. Pick your favorite chef, cook a dish and blog about it. That simple! I picked Julia Child as my favorite chef. And decided to make her boeuf bourguignon recipe. I read up on Julia Child and Sunday was the big day for me to make the beef dish and write about it.

https://eastwestandeverythinginbetween.wordpress.com/2011/02

Three friends who love to cook! East, West and everything in between. Archive for February, 2011. Posted by CanRad in Cooking together. Meshugeneh is all I can think of to describe my Pierogi experience. Meshugeneh is Yiddish for “crazy, insane, mad”. I LOVE this word… and use it often. It rolls of the tongue and feels crazy… and I felt crazy after my Sunday with pierogies! 2 cups flour, plus extra for kneading and rolling dough. 1/2 cup sour cream. 1/4 cup butter, softened and cut into small pieces.

Three friends who love to cook! East, West and everything in between. Archive for March, 2011. Posted by CanRad in Desert. Last night I had no plans to make a desert. But of course about 20 minutes post dinner my Maddy hollered, “what’s for desert? 8221; Quick think, what is for desert? I knew I could not pass off a yogurt with granola again; and we were running pretty low on groceries as I am on a clean out kick. We have apples! There are ton’s of things to do with them! 1 large tart apple. I have been ...

Three friends who love to cook! East, West and everything in between. Spiced Shrimp with Ginger Rice and Peas. Posted by CanRad in Dinner. For the most part of last week, I took a break from cooking. I really think the weekend before had done me in! I got back on the wagon for tonight’s dinner and whipped up something light in calories. I need to look good in my bikini when I’m in the Bahama’s soaking up the rays! Spiced Shrimp with Ginger Rice and Peas – 362 calories. 4 teaspoons vegetable oil. Alas, I ...

Making this and that more easily. Sunday, October 2, 2011. Jammin' with Musicians, Talk-stories with Writers and more. It started with a simple request, Nonoy, a violinist wanted to jam with great musicians. He asked that I invite some. I did and also invited writers and publishers and community folks on Sept. 30, 2011, and two favorite priests. I have been planning what to cook for a month, shopping for ingredients for a week and cooking for two days and loving every moment of it. Benel, Janet, please!

Bostneulis Supi: A Delicious Summer Soup. Have you ever lived in a rental apartment or house? Why is it that the overwhelming majority of them have the most awful stoves ever made? It seems like the worst stoves are just reserved for rental units. And it's not just here. I've seen unlevel, uneven-heating stoves in Houston, in Moscow and most recently here in the Twin Cities. But now I am so happy to say that we have bought our first home, and it has a gas stove! To make it, you will need the following:.
