Just another mornin' with Norman. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Laura said I was a really good dog (wag, wag) and I listened so well. I even listened when I was playing with some of my new dog friends. Of course after I listened, I was rewarded by letting me RUN and play with my new dog friends. When my family went into the ocean, I got very nervous. I followed them as far as I could, and then I waited and watched them until they came back. Here I was keeping my eye on the rest of the family.

Just another mornin' with Norman. Saturday, January 10, 2009. So, Mat and Laura have been doing this thing where they put me on this tall table, touch me all over the place and actually comb my fur! I don't like it so much, except for the yummy treats they give me, and how cute they think I am afterwards. I've watched Betsy, and she doesn't seem to mind so much; maybe it's not so bad. Thursday, January 8, 2009. Betsy turned 12 on January 6th. Laura made me. Wednesday, January 7, 2009.

The very tall spruce tree to the right of the home is an out-of-character tree for Nodak. It is about 150' tall, and we cannot believe that thing is still standing. Just another morning here. Wednesday, October 13, 2010. A couple of weeks ago, Ava fractured her radius. She fell off a chair, and landed wrong. She needs to wear the splint for 3 weeks and then a 4th week of no activity. The first couple of days were very, very sad for her; but now, she is back to her normal, contemplative self (see below). It is a beautiful summer day here in Portland, so Mat and the kids were putting up the umbrella so we could eat dinner outside. When they lifted up the umbrella, they saw a baby bat. Mat saw the guano, and decided we would eat inside. So then Mat said, "it's like he's (the bat, a.k.a. Edward) in his cave". Jack responded, "you mean he has a booger in his nose?
