Chris & John's Travel Log: March 2014
http://chrisjohntravellog.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Chris and Johns Travel Log. Thursday, 6 March 2014. As with most of the lakes and large rivers over here, the shoreline is dotted with both permanent and holiday houses, some of which are quite expansive, while others are very ordinary. Our dinner at the local Mexican restaurant was excellent. The name probably comes from the fact that moose often struggle during the winter with 'winter ticks' which infest them in the thousands and often cause the moose to scratch off a lot of their coat. The ticks a...

Chris and Johns Travel Log. Sunday, 4 January 2015. NEW SOUTH WALES SOUTH COAST. Wonboyn Lake turned out to be a lovely place. When we first arrived at the caravan park, we thought ‘what the? The local satin bower bird had built a bower across the road from the park. We drove out to Nadgee Nature Reserve which is typical coastal scrub with lots of really big banksia trees. This half opened banksia flower turns into the pod below -. Inspiration for May Gibb's big bad Banksia Men. While at Bega we paid a v...

Chris and Johns Travel Log. Monday, 7 July 2014. ITALY, SWITZERLAND, GERMANY - A ROAD TRIP. 8220;But we have paid for two days and we are three hours early leaving” said John, only to be informed that it was one more euro and that was that. When asked why he hadn’t informed us about the ten minute caper, he said he didn’t have to tell us. Unfortunately this was an attitude that often surfaced in Austria and France. They certainly aren’t service orientated. That's the road hugging the gorge at left. We ha...

http://chrisjohntravellog.blogspot.com/2015/07/our-2008-american-motorcycle-odyssey.html
Chris and Johns Travel Log. Sunday, 19 July 2015. OUR 2008 AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE ODYSSEY. That's the only way to describe our ride through the west coast of USA and Canada in 2008. After 70 days on the road, John and I found it very difficult to drop the bikes at the shipping agents and get on a plane back to reality. The bikes snug in their cradles ready for shipping. Our first stop in Hawaii was Honolulu where we spent 4. Would you believe this is a cop car? There is still oil floating around the wreck!

Chris & John's Travel Log: June 2014
http://chrisjohntravellog.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Chris and Johns Travel Log. Wednesday, 25 June 2014. The drive from Vienna to Hallstatt was really picturesque. We weren’t in a hurry so we could take the minor roads and enjoy the scenery which grew more and more specky as we neared the village. The weather was perfect and we saw people were taking full advantage of it, out hiking, canoeing etc. The roadside comfort stops left a bit to be desired. There wasn't even a hole or a drum under there! We both got hit by stinging nettles in the carpark. We had ...

Chris & John's Travel Log: January 2013

Chris and Johns Travel Log. Thursday, 24 January 2013. TASMANIA 11 - THE NORTH COAST. We probably also loved the place because, even without the tinny, we could still catch a feed of fish and abalone. John jumped into his wetsuit on day 2 and within half an hour had eight lovely green lipped abalone. With directions as to how to prepare them and a taste of some cooked in lemon pepper from some hospitable locals, we managed to have a beautiful meal that night. Our camp below The Nut. Highfield from The Nut.
