We Don't Eat Bugs. Monday, April 21, 2014. Like riding a bike.) You can find the PDF file we used for animal classification here. A mom from a Weaver Facebook group shared the website.( If you use Weaver, it's a great source for support and great ideas! They learned what a mammal is, and how animals protect themselves while under attack. They each made their own animal notebook, filling out pages for each of the animals they learned about. We spent lots of time watching the sea otters play.

We Don't Eat Bugs: August 2012
http://wedonteatbugs.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
We Don't Eat Bugs. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Because I've Promised Him the Glory. I planned on writing this post yesterday, before the phone call at dinner. Between my tears, I had no desire to write about blessings. Then I remembered that I have committed to God a promise that through everything, I would bring Him glory. Good or bad times. So, it seems more fitting to write this now, while walking in another small valley. So- onto the blessings. Part of me still says, REALLY? So latest prayer request?

We Don't Eat Bugs: October 2012
http://wedonteatbugs.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
We Don't Eat Bugs. Friday, October 26, 2012. We had a mini celebration in our house tonight! It was originally planned to celebrate Lydia passing her wheat challenge. Plans had to change. She didn't pass the challenge, and we also found out about two new allergies to garlic and beef. Yes- beef, as in hamburgers and steak and chili and spaghetti sauce. Yep, lots to smile about! She was wondering why we were staring at the cake instead of eating it. Self pity, go away. Cake tastes way better. To know that ...

We Don't Eat Bugs: January 2013
http://wedonteatbugs.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
We Don't Eat Bugs. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. I gave away just about every cleaning product in my house yesterday. It feels great. After watching the documentary Chemerical. Plus the financial savings! I cleaned my bathrooms and floors yesterday, and dusted the furniture. I only used various combinations of water, vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, and washing soap. I didn't have a single headache that I usually do while cleaning, and my house is squeaky clean without the worry of toxic fumes.

We Don't Eat Bugs. Saturday, April 27, 2013. Next month is our tenth wedding anniversary. I can't believe I'm old enough for that to be true. In some ways it seems like yesterday that I walked down the aisle; in other ways it feels like a lifetime ago, because it's hard to remember life without Bill. He's my first and only love. In Hopeville Canyon, West Virginia. These two pictures of our cabin and our view are from the Harman's Cabins website. It's a great place to stay if you ever visit the area.

We Don't Eat Bugs: July 2013
http://wedonteatbugs.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
We Don't Eat Bugs. Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Extending my Comfort Zones. Last September at Lifeway's Dot Mom conference, Amy and I walked into a breakout session led by a loud and funny speaker named Jen Hatmaker. And expecting- well, honestly not much. Especially nothing that would turn our lives upside down. Well, considering the current parenting path I was on, I felt really uncomfortable answering that question. Then Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your...

We Don't Eat Bugs. Thursday, October 17, 2013. Do You Want To See My Wonderful Day? Smiling when walking outside of a doctor's office is always a good feeling. It turns out that Lydia has put on some weight lately! Isaac did get a prize, but he was sad for his little sister. He told me in the car that he wished Lydia had listened to the doctor so she could have had a prize too. (Best big brother ever, that boy! So once again, thank you all so much for the prayers! God is so faithful! We Don't Eat Bugs.

We Don't Eat Bugs. Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Why does she have to deal with all of this? What does that say about the redeeming grace of God? He will strengthen me, help me, uphold me with His righteous hand. Isaiah 41:10. I love Psalm 73:26, because it feels like it was written just for me- "My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever." I may not understand His plan, but that verse-that I do understand. And amen to that. We Don't Eat Bugs. We Don't Eat Bugs.
