Dancing in the dark. Unless you have a generator. Weeks Eight to Ten. Since my last blog post, I have been to Togo and Accra and back to Accra again. We (Courtney, Lotte, Peter and I) left Tamale on the 5:30pm flight on Friday the 26. That week at work, we received an email from the AYAD program, summonsing us to head back to Accra for a security briefing and a welcome lunch for some of the new volunteers that weekend. Dancing in the dark. Unless you have a generator. One of the leaders of the farmers organisation was stationed at a primary school. While approaching the school, all the children (they were on their lunch break) were frantically waving at the car. When the car stopped and I tried to get out, I was bombarded by hundreds of children screaming siliminga (white person) hello. We (a bunch of expats) spent Friday night at African Touch a Ghanaian spot (bar), where we had dinner and a couple of drinks. Federation of United Nations Staff Associations (FUNSA) Outdooring Ceremony- We were to wear this Ghanaian made UN cloth to symbolise unity between the various UN agencies in Ghana.
