Sunday, July 19, 2015. My niece, Amy, and her family are taking a driving vacation this summer and came through the Denver area yesterday. Paul and I met them in Golden for a fun visit. Aren't they a beautiful family? Paul really enjoyed reconnecting with his first cousins. I love this photo of him helping Brandon and Sara cross the street. I especially enjoyed catching up with Amy and her husband, Michael. I hadn't seen Amy for four years and it was great to see her again. Here they are. Love them!

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I'm having a great time here in San Diego visiting with Jean and Janice. On Sunday we went to Coronado and had lunch the Hotel del Coronado before hitting the beach. Back near our hotel we had a fun evening at the highly rated Solare restaurant. Today is our last day together and we are heading to La Jolla. We sure do enjoy each other's company! Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Tube to Work Day. I went for an early morning bike ride yesterday, following the Boulder Creek bike path west into a large public park. On the path there I passed this fellow, who looked mighty interesting. Suddenly I remembered reading that Tuesday was Boulder's Eight annual "Tube to Work Day," with tubing expected to start at 8:00 am. Friday, July 24, 2015. Ben and Paul and I volunteered yesterday for Crayons to Calculators. A local initiative to provide school supplies to kids in need. We unpacked supplies from boxes, broke down packing boxes for recycling, added supplies to backpacks, and loaded filled backpacks into shipping boxes. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Ben's brother, John, his wife, Dawn, and their two twelve year old boys are here visiting this week and we are enjoying a relaxing time together. I am working on a challenge piece for my guild. The challenge is to interpret a book, story, or poem. I do a lot of thinking on walks, and one day I composed the poem. I chose the font "papyrus", centered the text and printed the poem onto June Tailor Colorfast prepared sheets. It went from stark white to what you see above by way of these.
