Tuesday, February 19, 2008. VS 2008 fails to open forms. When opening any forms I get the following error on Visual Studio 2008 running on Vista. The Service Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop.ISelectionContainer already exists in the service container.Parameter name: serviceType. Http:/ connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx? System.dll and System.design.dll are out of sync with Visual Studio. They need to be on version 2.0.50727.1433. Monday, February 18, 2008. I ran into a problem where mapped drives would disconnect on a W2K machine (the drive was mapped to a W2K machine). This article on MSDN has a potential solution. Http:/ support.microsoft.com/kb/297684. I will work on creating a tool that will bypass the problem by saving a file intermittently on the mapped drive to maintain it being open.
