Before my flight to London (which I’m currently in the airport waiting for) I spent the weekend visiting friends in Chicago. My friend Connor, from college, was gracious enough to let me crash on his couch for the weekend, thanks again man! We then took the subway up to his apartment on the north side of the city. When we got off the subway we got food at a place called Big and Littles, it was fantastic! Day 2: After a good run on the north side from Connor’s apartment I took the long train ride do...

Third Time Is The Charm. Round three and this place is growing closer to my heart. This week followed the pattern of the previous weeks but was filled with many adventures of it’s own. I started off the week in the field with a great day in Archaeobotany. The flotation devices weren’t working so we spent our day sorting through samples. It’s quite funny how good company can make a seemingly menial task quite fun! Thanks Catherine, Kit and Emily! Following the lecture I went on a run through a new section...

On to what I’ve been doing since I got to Rome:. In classic Italian fashion we went to an Italian restaurant to kick off our experience in Rome. I got a pizza which was fantastic and we all split a bottle of wine and bottles of water (it’s definitely annoying having to pay for water here at restaurants). We hadn’t gone more than 3 blocks to find this place and had passed many restaurants on our way, we live in a good place for food. It was damn good and made me miss home. As many of you may know, and a few of you may not, I am going to be embarking on a most excellent journey. Starting tomorrow morning. I will be traveling to Europe where I will spend a week in London before the meat of my trip where I will be living in Rome and digging on an archaeological site called the Gabii project.
