Glimpses into Doug's journey with Lou Gehrig's Disease. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. As Doug's legs grew significantly weaker just in the last week, he was relieved that (this past Friday) was the day he'd be getting his new, electric wheelchair! The paperwork was put in for it in the middle of March, and it was finally ready! This wheelchair isn't just any wheelchair. It is custom made to his body, and will be operated by his feet! We haven't quite gotten settled yet due to different trips we've had to take, but we're excited to get into a routine and begin helping my parents out.
