I had really hoped this would be a longer, more dramatic, impressive video. It didn’t work out that way. But I tried really hard! I think this format doesn’t work unless a costume has a ton of pieces (like my tudor one), but it was worth a try. Even though I don’t love this as a video, I’m really pleased with how this costume came together. It’s comfortable to wear and having the hat (and eyepatch - weirdly) makes me feel quite regal for once! Posted 1 year ago. That one stupid dog hair. My FAQ is HERE.

I’m quite pleased with this so far. It fits but is a little loose on me, which is fine, I don’t think kirtles at this time were skin tight so i’m not worried about that. Finished Dress and Headpiece Up close look at bodice texture Skirt Texture How it looks worn! Complete with noodle legs from slanted mirror. I finished this a while ago but held off posting about it since the photos/video/blog posts about this were no where near done. This costume was tough for me, both in design and in construction because i’m allergic to half the materials I used. But it’s done now! Posted 1 year ago. More work on the forest sprite skirt! Began work on the first of my ikea curtain dresses! I actually started on this at 11, and had the dress completely finished around 4. But i’m spreading out the progress pictures a bit. The bodice was super easy, two pieces of fabric with darts sewn into them, and arm holes finished off with bias tape. The design is based off of summer spaghetti strap dresses from the 1950s.
