Dulverton Angling Association Perry Beat

The beat starts downstream of the bridge at the fishing hut at Weir and runs down to the junction with the Haddeo. This first stretch is normally reasonably productive and is known to contain grayling. Access is easy but there are a set of electrical cables crossing the beat on this section so caution is advised. As we return our fish please use barbless hooks or flatten the bard down well. Gold Head Hares Ear Nymph size 14. Sizes 14-18 in colours copper Black and olive. Pheasant Tail size 16. A good all round fly that can be fished near the surface or in conjunction with a Copper John or Czech near the bottom. Sizes 12-16 colours natural, orange and olive.

Every December the pretty Exmoor town of Dulverton is decorated with Christmas trees festooned with lights, and for one Sunday all of the shops are open for people to do some local Christmas shopping.
