Mareen Duvall (the Emigrant) arrived in America about 1650, eventually settling in Maryland where he became a large landowner. He is a maternal ancestor of President Barack Obama. He is also the ancestor of Ellis Duvall, my grandfather. Mareen's descendants migrated about 1790 to what is now Bullitt County,Kentucky. Ellis Duvall's great-great grandfather was the first generation to settle in Grayson County, KY where many of Ellis' descendants still reside.
