Hearty Italian White Bean Soup. I’m disappointed I even made this soup, because it means temperatures have still been frigid enough for me to be craving steamy hot soup for lunch. But with temps barely hitting 30 these days and snow that still needs to melt (ONE week away from April), soup still made it on the menu this week. Fortunately I used this. For the original recipe and ingredients and let us all keep our fingers crossed for warmer temperatures. Immediately. 2 cups pre-cooked brown rice. More sno...

Lemony Barley with Peas and Tofu | Eat Well with Janel

Lemony Barley with Peas and Tofu. I love barley. It’s dense and chewy, holds its weight without getting soggy in soup, goes great in a chilled grain salad or is hearty heated up as a side dish. For a quick lunch, I whipped up this barley recipe and something about the fresh parsley and lemon zest that almost tricked my tastebuds into thinking spring my actually be on its way. A girl can dream! 15 cups frozen peas. 1 block extra firm tofu, cut into cubes. 3 Tbsp minced fresh parsley. 2 Tbsp Olive oil.

The Recipeless Cook: Soft Crust No-Knead Bread featuring 100% Whole Wheat

http://therecipelesscook.blogspot.com/2011/11/soft-crust-no-knead-bread-featuring-100.html

Soft Crust No-Knead Bread featuring 100% Whole Wheat. There are numerous no-knead recipes on this blog now, to help put this revolutionary recipe in the spotlight. It can bring good bread at low cost, to the table of millions. This is my favourite no-knead recipe. Organic Whole Wheat vs. Processesed Enriched White Flour. So why not stick with good old white flour, which always produces the best results for bread? No guff. Today, it is more likely to be produced from Chinese duck feathers. It has also bee...

The Recipeless Cook: Cast Iron Pizza

http://therecipelesscook.blogspot.com/2013/11/cast-iron-pizza.html

One broccoli volcano with lava cheese coming up! What if I told you that "you could have anything in the world"? And what if I told you "so long as that thing is pizza"? What kind of pizza would it be? Gourmet pizzeria pizza from a restaurant that serves wood fired-pizza perhaps? What if I told you that you could make something like that at home? In under 3 minutes? Well, in the kitchens of The Recipeless Cook. nothing. 1 1/4 teaspoons yeast. 1 cup water (warm). 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Making pizza dough i...

The Recipeless Cook: Kiwi Custard Pie

http://therecipelesscook.blogspot.com/2012/01/kiwi-custard-pie.html

Pâte Brisée Pie (or tart) Shell. 6 T cold butter. 1/8 tsp. salt. 1 T (full rounded) plain sugar. 1/4 cup ice cold water. 1 egg, beaten. 1/2 tsp. salt. 2 tbsp. butter. Serve at room temperature or, better, chill in refrigerator and serve. Nb You can also try making this in a muffin tin, as individual "tartelettes". Just remember to adjust the baking time for the crust. Authored by The Recipeless Cook. T = teaspoon (cuiller à thé / 1 cuiller à café). T = tablespoon (cuiller à soupe).

The Recipeless Cook: Green Curry Vinaigrette

http://therecipelesscook.blogspot.com/2012/11/green-curry-vinaigrette.html

Need a quick fix to dress your salad tonight? How about something a bit off the beaten path? I decided to get a little. Creative this time with the salad dressing, and thought I would try throwing in some green curry paste, that I had in my fridge. It looks like this, the kind you use in Thai or perhaps Viet Namese dishes. Ok, you probably don't have that either. well, let's have a look-see. what do you have? Indian style curry paste? How about just curry powder then? Not too much, just a little.).

The Recipeless Cook: Half and Half No-Knead Bread (50% Whole Wheat)

http://therecipelesscook.blogspot.com/2011/12/half-and-half-no-knead-bread-50-whole.html

Half and Half No-Knead Bread (50% Whole Wheat). This is the latest and perhaps greatest, if not last, variation on the theme of no-knead "breading" for The Recipeless Cook. It is the coup de maitre of taking one half quantity of all purpose flour, and one half whole wheat (stoneground organic no less), and making the perfect bread out of the perfect compromise. It's one of my best variations. Why do this? Why not go all the way, with one flour type or another? 2 c whole wheat flour. 2 T gluten powder.
