Sunday, March 2, 2008. Although most people here are Christians (which in Rwanda means no drinking), I had noticed that the city has an inordinate number of saloons. Signs are painted directly on the building, and with the abundance of saloon signs, I began to question the no-drinking rule. Fast forward to this afternoon. Friday, April 29, 2011. Today I visited the elephant orphanage (it has a longer, more official name, but most people just call it the elephant orphanage) on the outskirts of Nairobi. The elephants were orphaned by the deaths of their mothers by poaching, accidents, or natural causes. Naturally, the babies were unbelievably cute- bumping into one another, rolling in the mud, and generally acting like kids. Thanks for the photo.). April 30, 2011 at 12:42 PM. Yeah, theres just something about baby elephants.

Sunday, May 31, 2009. On Tuesday, Mica and I dined at Carnivore, a famous restaurant in Nairobi. A Kenyan friend, Susanne, who used to be a manager at the restaurant, joined us. Just for you Gramps…. So all my finals are taken, projects done, and papers handed in. I’m pretty sure I ended up my semester abroad with As and Bs. :). This weekend we went to Granada. It was so beautiful…and COLD! It looked like it could have snowed any minute too…but it didn’t :(. But I did see snow on the mountains of the Sierra Nevada! Friday night we went to a Flamenco show-AMAZING! The music was awesome and the dancers were so intense! Whatever you do…DON’T get sick in Spain…. Thursday, October 28...
