One of the finest features is the Integral Braking System of the Elystar. Pulling the left lever activates both the front and the back wheel brakes simultaneously. A hydraulic system distributes the braking power to both wheels. On the rear wheel, two calipers are visible (1). The wheels (12") could have been a bit larger, though. The polder road at Monnickendam. Peugeot flikt het 'm weer! My daily trips consist of about 9 miles of local quiet roads (see pictures) and 6 more miles through the streets of the city of Amsterdam, all one way. It takes me about 30 minutes, and I'm not complaining. Of course, since I only own this scooter for a couple of weeks now, I haven't tried to do any corners at maximum speed. Instrument panel and display. The Peugeot Elystar comes with a speedometer, also containing a battery charge indicator and an engine self diagnose display. The latter warns the driver when the injection system fails. The indicators on the right include an oil warning light, the indicator light, the headlight indicator and an anti theft warning light indicating that the engine immobiliser system is active. The open unit was sent in January 2005 by an Elystar rider with obvious advanced technical skills.
