A blog dedicated to my 15th century archery project; celebrating the beauty and simplicity of the bow. and having a bit of fun too! Wednesday, 23 May 2012. The completed gambeson, very comfy to wear and easy to shoot in. Hot on a sunny day though, but we don't get too many of those in Scotland. No doubt the reverse will be true and it will keep me warm on a cold day too! Posted by Graham Hamilton. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Towton, 29th March 1461. Http:/ www.studio88.co.uk/. A blog dedicated to my 15th century archery project; celebrating the beauty and simplicity of the bow. and having a bit of fun too! Thursday, 28 July 2011. On a stinking wet day we decided to head for Linlithgow Palace in West Lothian, about forty minutes drive from home. It's never a disappointment going to a Historic Scotland property, even in the rain. This one isn't anything to do with archery, but for anyone who appreciates history and architecture Linlithgow is a gem. Posted by Graham Hamilton.

A blog dedicated to my 15th century archery project; celebrating the beauty and simplicity of the bow. and having a bit of fun too! Monday, 28 March 2011. On the costume trail again, this time some really handsome bits to hang on my belt. From Tod's Stuff a 'ballock' dagger and a leather pouch from Karl Robinson. So the bowman would perhaps have carried a spare bowstring, beeswax to keep it in good order, maybe arrowheads or a few coins, just all the general bits you'd keep with you. Friday, 18 March 2011.

A blog dedicated to my 15th century archery project; celebrating the beauty and simplicity of the bow. and having a bit of fun too! Saturday, 24 March 2012. My true colours had to come to the fore at some point. I'm not much cop at sewing, but I put my heart and soul into this little badge. Shield gules, three cinquefoils I think is how it would be described. Not sure though. Not averse to a bit of fence jumping the old family, sided with the English briefly during the Wars of Independence. ahem! Subscri...
